How could they post a first trailer which looked like a mediocre SM3DL rehash, and now they post a trailer with so much fantastic content that it looks like Super Mario Galaxy 3 ? I'm buying a Wii U bundle with this game ( 99% sure they will make one, since this game looks like system-seller )

It's amazing how some levels look good while others look like 0:41... I mean look at those textures...

How do you know? Iwata was quoted as saying that 3D was possible, but that it wasn't a focus. So maybe that added in 3D, and just aren't telling anyone about it until last minute. If Nintendo want's to actually be considered next-gen, they need 3D. I don't want to buy a 3D TV if the only thing I can watch on it in 3D is overpriced BluRays.

Not everyone can see 3D, not everyone can afford 3D TVs. No they don't, they already have 3D, it's called the 3DS. They don't need 3D to be considered next gen, don't be ridiculous.

It would be an optional feature of course. Most people that can't afford a 3D TV now, may get one by the time the generation is up in 6 years. They cost almost the same as regular new TV's. The new passive ones are much more practical with glasses being included and really cheap. If you don't like 3D or don't have it, don't turn it on.

The 3Ds is a tiny portable single player system. It's good for playing by myself. But if I invest in a TV, I want it for multiplayer experiences. My 24" monitor is fine for playing by myself in my bedroom. Trying to do split screen and parties on it is not good. I want the big TV for when I have people over.

And they do need 3D to be nextgen in the eyes of the core gamers. The Wii U is barely more powerful than the 360/PS3. I think it's about the games and not the power, but I like the WiiU, but if you want to convince the core gamers, it needs 3D and better online functionality.

Nintendo already knows how to render the games in 3D with the 3DS. It would take what, maybe a week or two of work to make the new Wii U games work with 3D.

Older active shutter 3D sucked, but the new generation of Theater3D technology, with the passive glasses and no dimming, is incredible. If they expect us to pay $60 per game, we should get something more.

The problem is, some people, like me, are unable to see 3D effects even if we wanted to (stereo blindness), but if it's gonna be there at all, it should be optional and not forced, the games themselves should be the selling point, not the 3D because like I said, those TVs are prohibitively expensive. To make games to have 3D would require extra time and development to have it added into the code, you can't just magically add 3D and have it work right away. Lack of 3D isn't the problem, it's the lack of proper marketing as the Wii U marketing sucks balls and Nintendo's the only one who can fix it. Adding 3D would only serve to confuse more people. Before 3D becomes a selling point, they need games for next gen consoles that actually have replay value and not focus on flashy graphics.

Some people can't see color, so should we make the games in black and white only? On the 3DS, 3D is optional. I just want it like that. And no, they don't need to make it a selling point or advertise it all. Just silently add it in, under an advanced menu. And have you checked prices lately? 3D TV's cost only 10% to 20% more than a comparable TV without the 3D. It's negligible. If you can afford a $1000 TV, you can afford the same one in 3D for 1100 or 1200. They aren't $500 apart anymore. They are also putting 3D is smaller and smaller TV's. If all you can afford is a 32", they make those in 3D now too. I just want an unadvertised optional support.

No, Nintendo already coded all the add 3D libraries and stuff it needs. Adding 3D wouldn't take a lot of additional coding. All the hard parts are abstracted away in their libraries and the libraries of the graphics hardware. I'm pretty sure, that some of the development team has been experimenting with 3D enabled, so the work is actually already done, and they just compile it at build time with the 3D option turned off.

3D is not a fad. It just has never been that good before. It still needs some improvements, but it's getting there. I actually use 3D technology in my job, and yes it does make some of my work easier and better. I study 3D molecules, so seeing them in 3D makes a big difference.

If I could tell people that they could come play MarioKart in 3D, they might come over to check that out. Otherwise, they might not. I think 3D would get people to want to play video games with me more. The other day, my roomates and I were playing Nintendo, but then two of our friends showed up. We immediately stopped playing video games and did other activities, but mostly talking. Maybe if there was 3D, people would have wanted to play the video games. It isn't easy to convince people who don't normally play video games to play video games. I want to play multiplayer, but whenever other people are around, they don't want to play video games.

I think that the Wii U can output in 3D. I haven't tried it on a 3D TV yet, but assuming I connected my regular Wii to a 3D TV last year, and it did display 3D images to an extent (almost like a 2D-to-3D conversion), surely the Wii U would have at least the same 3D compatibility, if not full-fledged 3D as standard.

Nintendo probably doesn't draw attention to it in fear of people calling 'gimmick' again.

3D televisions are not prohibitively expensive. They cost basically the same as any other TV at this point. This was the case almost 2 years ago when I bought my 47 inch....it was about the same price so I went with the 3D.

I think Assasins Creed 2 is the only Wii u game that currently supports 3D. The Wii U is perfectly capable and this game has "3D" in the title.

There is no harm in including the feature for people who want the option. 3D is never forced.

I would love for this game to support 3D but I from what nintendo has said I don't think it is likely.

I sure as hell hope they support nunchucks, we already know they support sideways wiimote but running around a 3D environment with a dpad is not ideal. I would hope they are smart like they were with Wii MK and Smash...support all controllers. This game should support classic and pro controllers as well for multiplayer.

Edit: that is awesome that game info page linked earlier does show all those controllers are supported.

Most developers don't really care about 3D anymore. The PS4 and Xbone support it but don't really market it or rely on it, Nintendo's own latest Pokemon game isn't 100% 3D...

Well, a gimmick is better than nothing, as long as you can turn it off ;)

MASSIVE artwork, we can even see the Comet Observatory on the top right, so that means Rosalina is back.
