I don't know why but suddenly my DS doesn't produce any sound from the speakers or from the headphones.

    Anyone got any ideas why?

Nope, I've never dropped it. It's always in its case when I'm not playing it.

Then try showing it to an expert. That's why there are called 'experts'.

I think that the DS you bought was damaged originally. Show it to a know-it-all, and if he/she doesn't know, complain to Nintendo or the black market or wherever you got it from.

    Ok let me rephrase then.

Is there a commonly known problem where the sound cuts out and is it easily fixable by me. I really don't want to have to look for my receipt from a year ago.

My DSphat is starting to cut out.
If i press firmly under the a/b/y/x buttons it will cut out until i press it again.

I guess this is more then enough reason to get a DSL

It has absolutely no sound at all? Have you tried changing the volume?

Try using earphones, if those work; your speakers are definitely messed up.

    If not... Then...

Either way, send it to Nintendo to get it fixed.
