This whole ordeal won't let you connect to Nintendo Zone, even though it says it is available. It is only to receive streetpasses.

oh didn't know that, but the virtual router program keeps having my 3ds disconnect, I have a second one and with that one it won't find host name or IP address, any help?

My original idea was to make 100 MAC's and write auto rotating scripts for all platforms and make a stylish webpage with clear instructions and share it around the web to get many users. If the network would hit over 1000 users you could switch to 1000 MAC's and auto rotate randomly every 5 minutes. Que endelss streetpasses! =D

Haha, that Mii on the far right (with that "yarn hat"), i got him too, yesterday. :)

Maybe, someone of the ppl here at gbatemp got my Mii? Yesterday it was a red one with a capt. Falcon hat, named wynk

I got the whole thing working with the windows7 solution, finaly. I tested it with 10 MACs, got 8 Miis and MUCH MUCH stuff for my games (for example 12 AC Houses). I also got 2 people from Japan, one which was called "ZYX" who has a complete set of ALL puzzles and an army of "9.999.999" on the war game... ;)

try ifconfig ath0 hw ether 4e:53:50:4f:4f:40
instead of ifconfig at0 hwaddr=4e:53:50:4f:4f:40

if that doesn't work, try subbing eth0 for ath0 as that's the only interface that has packets.

Hi, I'm not sure why but I went to bed last night doing ifconfig ath0 down and then in the morning i had loads of streetpasses, so I may have accidentally got it working when I only wanted to turn off the radio for the night, I will keep it running anyway.

Just a quick question. When I first set this up, Nintendo Zone shows up fine because of the SSID, but do I need to turn MAC cloning on or will the commands work on their own? Also, is there a way to set this to run 24/7 instead of just during a time frame?

No you don't need to do MAC clone for script to work. To do 24x7 you can change to */15 * * * * root...

I am a bit confused by that dd-wrt script, it seems a bit overly complicated, I was trying to see if I could do anything, but it didn't seem to work for me.

It seems i have no iwconfig? My router whr-g300v2, 4D is default

Code:
root@Nintendo-ROUTER:~# cat /proc/cpuinfo
system type : Atheros AR7240 rev 1.2 (0x00c2)

I tried doing this code:

root@Nintendo-ROUTER:~# ifconfig ath0 down
root@Nintendo-ROUTER:~# ifconfig ath0 hwaddr=4E:53:50:4F:4F:40
root@Nintendo-ROUTER:~# ifconfig ath0 up

This is for Broadcom, but for Atheros hostapd must be restarted. Update to the latest script please and check.

Hello.

I am using a rooted Motorola Atrix 2.

Have the 3.3 beta wifi tether program installed, as well as busybox and terminal emulator to test if it works.

Inputted the MAC address and the SSID, checked the settings I needed to enable and picked my own phone for "Change Device-Profile" (it says "device changed to "edison"" if that means anything). Even went through the trouble of disabling the entitlement check.

Still not really having any luck, however. I changed the device to "Generic ICS/JB (wlan0)" and "Generic ICS/JB (wlan1)" and "Auto" too, still not working.

When I had it set to (wlan0) I also input "busybox iplink show wlan0" and I'm getting "iplink: can't find device 'wlan0'", so no luck. Are there any other effective ways to really test if it works?

And granted my phone isn't as recent as a Samsung Galaxy, am I out of luck? I also checked WiFi-driver reload and reload 2 and it still didn't work.

On wich Android are you?
Try to Change device to Auto

What is in the "LOG" after starting the Hotspot?

I wonder if anyone can help me with my problem...
Yesterday, i tried this. I have Windows 7, so naturally i did the Virtual Router thing. Luckily for me, it worked, even i was able of using 2 differents SSID to streetpass (Attwifi and _The Cloud). Today i've tried to do it again, and i can't connect to neither of those two SSIDs, however if i turn on the 3ds i get the Nintendo Zone message. I also tried creating a wireless hosted network, but it didn't work either (Also, i don't know how to change the MAC that way). I even used the Chaldron program *the last version* and still no luck. Any ideas? Thanks for the answers
Also, i only got 1 person per streetpass, however i got about 7 game streetpasses, and they were from differents people. Just to make sure, that is normal right?
