I beat it on normal and currently playing it on Lunatic, it's harder but doesn't add much.

I think it's a good game but certainly not the best on 3DS. It's pretty short(harder difficulties increase play time but it's mostly grinding) and lacks customization beyond a set of 5 skills and hair style.

The multiplayer could of been much better and there should have been more units.

Nope, it definetely lived up to it's hype.
U can earn more than 5 skills bro. U just can equip five. The fact that characters can easily switch class is a plus too. Lunatic is just brutal but awesome. And the DLC makes it all worthwhile too.

I didn't have an initial interest in Fire Emblem Awakening at first but I think the first thing that made me take notice of this game was that the character art was completely different to the previous games (even better when I found out it was by the artist of No More Heroes) and also the announcement of the limited edition 3DS XL. So many things from the previous games that frustrated me have been fixed.

Apart from "casual mode", the biggest change I think is the ability to grind which in turn means I can actually nuture the weaker units into tanks and essential units. I guess I could've ended this by saying, yes, this did live up to my hype and now I'm buying up all the DLC maps which I never thought I'd do for a 3DS game.

Still haven't played, but I'm not a fan of the series. If I find it cheap, I'll pick it up.

Last time I bought a game based on hype and hope it was the Kid Icarus reboot, and that was truly NOT worth the hype.

More units? There are 48 units besides the Avatar and 17 DLC characters. As I recall, you usually only get to take around nine or ten units into battle with you.

While it's true they could have implemented online multiplayer, the problem would have been balance. How do you propose most people defeat those who have characters with maxed out stats across the board, the perfect skill set and forged weapons? It becomes even more impossible if you're forced to battle against someone who uses the Avatar and DLC characters, since they can use pretty much any skill they want. You could have a whole team of Galeforce/Miracle/Counter/Aggressor/Limit Breaker users.

That shouldn't be true for any game.

Well I guess my opinion on the game isn't very popular. I'm strictly against paid DLC in games and maybe that's why I didn't enjoy it as much as everyone else. (Though I did enjoy it quite a bit)

I genuinely thought I was the only one who didn't enjoy the Kid Icarus Uprising game as much as I thought. Everything started to get repetitive and there really was no motivation to go through the on land stage anymore.

Theres alot of fan service. The sexual kind plus all the references like attack names, dlc characters, Owain yelling out fire emblem titles and other stuff. eg: ELIWOOD's....RAGE!, etc. Did you know this game saved off a dying series? Also, I think this game shines when post game is available. You can recruit more characters, grind up the children, play harder dlc like Apotheosis and Priam's paralogue using all thirty characters if you want. Break the game with a forged aversa's night Noire, beach fanservice dlc, etc. Its also fun making builds like support Chrom or Vantage+Vengence+Wrath Owain.

Excuse me?
1. That was opinion and I'm certainly not the only who thinks about it.
2. For me, it DOES make it worthwhile because It's content and stories are completely separate from the game itself.

I was rather apathetic to FE:A. A lot of it has to do with how underwhelming I found the avater and the actual influence I could have on the gaem experience. It really wasn't helped by me buying P4G and that being the much superior gaem.

Cutscenes were gorgeous mind.

Didn't mean to cause any offense. Of course you're entitled to your opinion but when DLC sold after the fact is the thing that makes you think "yes, this is a good game" then to me that is just wrong.

No bro I know what you mean but that's not what I'm talking about.
The DLC is enjoyable. It's a + to me. But the DLC doesn't determine if a game is good or not. It's the original content. Some people like me just enjoy exploring a bit further then the story when given the chance, and the fact fact that DLC is there is a bonus to them. XD

Noway, I absolutely love this game and my friends do too. I highly rate it. It's a lot of fun and hours and hours of gameplay,
sure quite a bit of it is grinding, but with streetpass and regular downloadable content updates, it feels fresh and there are multiple ways to level up.
I don't have anything to complain about.
I've racked up 14 hours so far and I love it, one of my favourite games on the 3DS so far. But I really enjoy tactics games, it's my favourite genre.

Just brought the download code off on ebay last night for only £28. I've been hooked on it all day, it's the best fire emblem game. I usually given up quickly on other games in the series because it got really boring and hated permanent death. The graphics are amazing, 3D is deep, sharp and cut-scenes are breathtaking.

I wasn't hyped for it initially, but after playing through it, it's simply beautiful.

Pros:
- It was typical fire emblem gameplay, which is incredably addictive
- marriage and kids made pairing up players fun
- Story was good and well played out
- Felt polished in cutscenes and battle animations
- Amazing bonus extra's in the wireless menu option including recruiting old fave's like Ike and Marth
- Streetpass players showing up on the map and being recruitable is fantastic
- Support conversations and character personalitys in general were great and often funny

Cons:
- Most of the maps lacked any real variety untill very late in the game and many felt too small
- Avatar character didnt have enough customization
- Avatar voice had even less customization
- Local multiplayer is a complete wasted oppertunity and needed to have an actual map fight

I think the biggest thing that bugged me is half of the maps on the game felt too "open" and lacked villiages/rocks/walls that you could use as cover, i remember one level on the old games that had a castle and windows with enemy archers who had a limited view from them and you had to send your characters through the "view" point 2-3 at a time because the passage was too narrow to clutter up your army, forcing you to split up your team. This added a great deal of stratagy to the game that is really lacking in Awakening.

However the bottom line is i think the game did live up to the hype, it is an excellent game with a good 40hour main story playthrough and solid extras.
