I've always found it frustrating that certain promoted mounted units only have 7 movement. Rangers and mounted magic users only have 7 movement instead of 8 like in the previous games. Great Lords gain a mount when they promote too but they also only get 7 movement like Eliwood did.

In the case of Ephraim, his great growths and access to Reginlieif compensate for the lack of a movement point but it's still silly to see his promoted class being a lancelocked cavalier. Erika isn't worth using because being swordlocked is worse than being lancelocked and she doesn't get a critical hit bonus like swordmasters do.

When it comes to rangers, only Neime and Gerik can promote to them. Nieme isn't worth using and Gerik should promote to hero anyway because hand axes are better than bows in the vast majority of scenarios.

Mounted magic users generally aren't worth using because they have lower caps and don't have access to the slayer skill. It still sucks to see L'Arachel not gain any movement upon promotion.

This point relates to the previous game, but Eliwood promotes to a cavalier making him, a mandatory unit, worse than other units.

So what do you think of their movement statistics and overall usefulness?
