Simple terms since you have not read or comprehended my recent posts. I like Wii U and anything going downhill loses value for trade/sale. Like stocks; get out or stay in. Simply looking for reasons to stay. No need for anger.
Except electronics will only ever go down in value unless it is a collector's item, which the Wii U definitely will not be. So I wouldn't worry about the "value" of electronics at all these days. It's like listening to the people say "but so and so will be out in 6 months, you should wait" and then something new is announced for that product again at that time and they tell you to wait for that.

Btw, haven't read the whole thread but which version/models did you get/trade. I'd have definitely done the trade, and I'm trying to get rid of my Jasper JTAG'd 360. It seems you got a good deal either way, especially since it is really only the hardware that is worth anything in this case, even if we do get a price drop in the US.

Oh, wow! Thanks a lot for this! I'm pretty happy with my Wii U, but that article made 1000 times more excited as some those I didn't knew were coming ^_^
EDIT:

Looks like I'm not the only one drooling over the list here XD

Yeah that's the problem, we know exclusive stuff is coming but damn Nintendo were too early with the Wii U release, there's no reason why there should be this long dry period with lack of varied software.

Epic, perfect. Others mentioned E3 I believe. This list is exactly the type of thing I needed to see. Looks to cover the range of games. From 8 bit looking stuff, some 16 bit maybe, and some newer titles that are shooters, racing. I like what I am seeing;-) In case it is not clear, I am keeping the Wii U. To answer another question, I have the 8 gig version (white). I have USB hard drives and I used a 360 slim RGH for the trade. I figure I was lucky to find somebody who wanted a hacked system with games they wanted to play right NOW and paying the Wii U was worth it to them.

Wii was underpowered and I could not get 2K basketball that I respected on it. Some shooters were not the same either. This is why I added a 360. The slim was great, tbh. Still, no system I've seen had the Wii's home brew. Wii simply could not deliver what I needed outside of the Nintendo exclusives. That list had a lot of shooters that looked good. I will see how it turns out and maybe if the next MS system is not terrible I may look at it for the Halo series and keep an eye out to sports games. I like my NBA 2K games. The demo of 2K 13 did not impress me much for Wii U. It was playable but the 360 version looked better. IF they had more time and it was not merely a port (basically) I believe it could have been better.

I'm pretty sure they try to rely on 3rd party to wait out the release + plus their two titles, but they drop the ball (they had a good launch and yet :/) for 2 "main" reasons,

1)"A" company is being a "jerk" and
2) Some of the 3rd party wasn't ready to release their games yet either. In fact they still not ready.
(ie.Rayman :P)

I guess they could have waiting a bit longer (tho they would have miss the holiday), but at least this way it give room for Wii u to grow overall.

Ok I'm not going to bother reading all the responses, but here is my opinion:

I honestly agree that there were hardly any good games for the Wii, and most of them were Nintendo ones. DS and 3DS had good support, and I don't see why they couldn't have done that with consoles. Although, even with that said, I still had a lot of fun with the good games the Wii DID have, such as Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Mario Kart Wii. I spent countless hours on those games with my friends, and even with my online ones. I don't have a WiiU myself, but that Miiverse thing looks brilliant, especially since I love art, and it's a unique way to bring the community together.

I'm a huge fan of Nintendo, and I would honestly buy a WiiU just to play the eventual console Zelda and Mario single-player games i love so much, and the eventual SSB and Mario Kart. With just those games alone, I would be satisfied.

WiiU has a pretty decent library. It's just waiting for a few more first-party (and eventually, third-part) exclusives. I mean, it already has Assassin's Creed 3, Batman Arkham City Armored Edition, Call of Duty Black Ops 2, Darksiders 2, Dragon Quest X (Japan, pending translation), Fifa 13, Lego City Undercover, Madden 13, Mass Effect 3, Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, NBA 2K13, Need for Speed Most Wanted, New Super Mario Bros U, Ninja Gaiden 3 Razor's Edge, Scribblenauts Unlimited, Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed, and Tekken Tag Tournament 2, just to name the good ones. It is also waiting for Batman Arkham Origins, Bayonetta 2, Deus Ex Human Revolution Director's Cut, Injustice Gods Among Us, The Legend of Zelda Windwaker Reborn, a new Zelda, Mario Kart, Pikmin 3, Rayman Legends, Resident Evil Revelations HD, Shin Megami Tensei x Fire Emblem, Super Smash Bros, Splinter Cell Blacklist, and The Wonderful 101. Mostly, it is just lacking really solid exclusives, but they will come.

As others have said if you are only concerned about resale value then get out now, because it could only lose value. Honestly, I'm not sure why someone who is as concerned with value for money as yourself wanted the WiiU right at release. You're basically guaranteed the console will be at its highest price ever and will have the smallest selection of games ever.

Just sell it, and then buy a limited edition bundle 2 years from now for $100 less. You'll get much more value out of it and it will have a high resale value.

If you traded a RGH which is modded for piracy for a Nintendo system that will likely be open to piracy in the near future... why would really care about what happens to these companies?

As for whether Nintendo will make it or not... of course they will. The Japanese market has shifted to mostly portable and as long as Nintendo can hold onto the market and compete with smartphones... they'll be fine. The Wii U could possibly have an early demise though... considering Dragon Quest has always had huge sales in Japan and the Wii U game is the worse selling launch in the series history. If you like Japanese games there's a lot of appeal though, Bayonetta 2 is a system exclusive... and it's also getting Shin Megami Tensei x Fire Emblem. I also see the Wii U as the only console likely to be hacked... PS4 and Durango will likely never be open to piracy or if so very late in their life cycles.

Lol, one worthless reply. Thanks for responses. I will laugh if Sony and MS sell less. $500? $600? Take huge losses to get systems out there? Nintendo killed it, Super Nintendo killed it, N64 seemed to do well, VB failed, GC lagged, Wii killed it. I've had them all. I am 31 and grew up on them. Sometimes Zi truly wonder if Nintendo gambled wrong now.

Yours 31 and you write like a 4th grader, maybe it is time to cut your losses. Video games have apparently killed off your intelligence

"Yours"? Writing at fourth grade is necessary to allow most people to comprehend my diction. Review your own grammatical errors before you hit reply. Free tip for you;-)

Edit; sentences end with a period. Three posts removed? I have not checked this in days.

Edit; yeah, I rambled and in context most see an "I" was intended in post you quote. I graduated and academic writing is more formal. A fun thing I like is worse than "Typing as think unedited.". I made this up. imtctswiwic. "I made this code to say whatever I want in context.". That one was free. Jnlybjbtsm. Without context nobody can crack it. Judge not lest ye be judged by the same measure. I can vent or even insult somebody for my own amusement. Anyway, yeah, ah, I speaka inglish I be for'getin punckt-ation. yours judging me and yours a hypocrite;-).

As long as control is gained or "root" then anything is possible. There are some creative analysts who work out details. Cliché but "Time will tell " applies to other systems.

I feel like the Wii U launch was far to soon.
They should've held on for a couple more months, wait for confirmed games and such, THEN launch it.
Heck , or even wait till next year and have better specs or something. This reminds me of the Sega Saturn, but on a much smaller scale.

He's also not from the US and English is likely not his native language. What's your excuse?
