After reading about this on a lot of gaming sites, and seeing the comments on the Ubisoft Facebook page, it seems a lot of people are unhappy with the way Rayman Legends has been delayed. It's difficult to tell if the only people posting about it are the unhappy people and some people just aren't bothered.
My personal point of view is that you just don't do this when there is less than a month to go before a game's release. The way Ubisoft went about things really seems like they're saying they don't need my business and I can take it elsewhere for all they care. I have no interest in the game myself, but my kids love the demo and I promised them I'd get them it when it comes out. I had a £35 Amazon gift code ready to place my pre-order with, and they kept asking me "is it out soon?".
I'll download the second demo, to appease the kids, but I don't think I'll buy the game right away when it's launched. By the time it comes out, the kids will have probably forgotten about it, so I doubt I'll buy it. If I do, I'll get it pre-owned or from a bargain bin when it's struggling to sell against Wind Waker HD and any other big titles due out later this year.
The online petition set up has already reached its original goal of 7,500+, in a bid to get Ubisoft to change their minds and release the game earlier as intended on the Wii U. I have my doubts that it will make any difference, though.
