Thanks for the advice. I like the CycloDs's built-in features though. How does the SuperCrad DS2 stand up to it? And the R4i Gold?
The Supercard DSTwo? It surpasses of the CycloDS's features.
The real time menu prominently is far better on the DSTwo.
DSTwo vs CycloDS
Real time menu loads/dismisses instantly - Real time menu may take considerable time to load depending on the microSD card
You get four real-time save slots which save/load very quickly, and are very stable - Only one real-time save per game and it must be created before launching the rom
An unlimited number of .txt and .bmp files can be assigned to any ROM, with a nice touch interface and word-wrapping - A tiny font on the top screen which has no word wrap, so you must use the d-pad to pan the text up and down and all around.
The CycloDS does have a slow-mo feature though, I do not believe the Supercard DSTwo does that.
But the DSTwo does let you toggle ANY cheats on and off on the fly, I think the CycloDS only let you disable your current selection IIRC.
Plus the DSTwo can do memory hacking, overwriting values in seeked addresses. For when cheat codes don't exist yet, easily max out your cash on your own!
Not to mention that the CycloDS is more expensive, does not work on DSi or 3DS, is no longer supported by Team Cyclo, it's just not sensible to buy one any more when the DSTwo is SO MUCH BETTER.
I understand brand loyalty, absolutely! The CycloDS was a fantastic card in its hay day, but today belongs to the Supercard DSTwo and to a lesser extent the Wood compatible R4i Gold, being the two major flashcarts that'll run on a 3DS.
