Rayman Origins 3DS Gets A Pre-Release Price Drop

Rayman Origins 3ds which is set to release in June after a series of delays, has received a $10 price cut. The game which was originally priced at $39.99 is now being sold by many retailers at $29.99.

This does look like a way to try to woo gamers to buy the game even after causing disappointment by successive delays.

Well the price drop will certainly help it sell better but still if its already on the other platforms it might still not sell as well as they hope.

With all the detail this game has, i think this game is best experienced on the PS Vita's large screen ... even if not in 3D.

This makes sense. The prices of the console versions and even the Vita version have already dropped. Launching it at a price of 40 bucks won't exactly attract new customers. Launching it 10 dollars cheaper will.

I really wouldn't see a reason for the 3DS version since literally every other console has it and they all look good.

I got my copy for Xbox 360 for $20 on Gamestop so fuck yeah.

Definitely the best platformer of this generation though.

Not a game I'll be getting unless it's on sale for £5 or something. Might work great on the 3DS, but when I have the option of buying games for the PC/PS3/Wii, I usually end up getting it for one of those and then use the handhelds for other games (exclusives I guess?).

I haven't conducted a gaming census yet, but you shouldn't discount the possibility. Or the possibility that they don't want to get the game for the other consoles.

Well that's the thing. All consoles are released already, but the 3DS version comes out months later than the rest. It's not an advantage in this case regardless of opinion of the game or any of the consoles.

At the same time the PSVita version has been out already for a while and is the first portable version. Sure quite a few people will buy it, that I'm sure of, since many already have a 3DS and not yet a PSVita.
