This application just easy the task of converting a PDF file to images + an HTML page that you can view in the 3DS browser.

If you have an Dropbox account and its Windows client installed, viewing a PDF in your 3DS is just a matter of dragging the PDF into the program, and then it will create a .html page, put it in your Dropbox public folder, grab the public URL, and optionally get a Bitly shorted link. So you get the URL, put it in your 3DS browser, and you can now view the PDF rendered as image files.

Requirements:

-Windows 7 or later, and probably Vista (not tested)
-Dropbox client (optional)

Download v2.1

Any suggestion or criticizes are welcome =D

Sounds cool, too bad I don't actually have any PDF files I want to view on my 3DS.
There's also the slight issue of WiFi taking more battery power..
Maybe the browser isn't the best way to do it?

right now it's the only way to do PDFs on the 3DS.
no it isn't, because you can use a dsi flashcart on the 3ds and use a pdf reader homebrew/run pdfs straight from the cart.(in ds mode) This is the only way to do it without a flashcart and in 3ds mode

Could you release the source for this? I noticed that PDFs aren't split up into multiple pages when the total size exceeds what the DS browser is capable of rendering in one page, and I'd like to add a fix for it, but all I have is the executable.

Uh... has anyone tried Google Docs Viewer? Can't see why that wouldn't work for viewing PDFs.

EDIT: doesn't work well with big files. Still, I imagine the majority of 3DS users will never need to view a PDF.

This looks interesting. The only thing that would be even better than this would be a web-version of this, i.e. converting a PDF file to images on a webserver on the fly without needing to start up a computer.

the source is here at GitHub, though there is no accompanying license, so plz dont bother me. Also you better know how to use Visual Studio to compile it ...

Yeah, would probably be much better, but you would have to find a way to host the output files, currently with this app I use Dropbox to host the files, but I dont send them to Dropbox, I just put them in the Public folder that its Windows client creates, so you see, I had to find an easy way to host the files

I made it just for fun so I can read something with my 3DS when I gotta sleep. Since I dont have a better mobile device, I use my 3DS which is pretty handy at scrolling the pages with the circle-pad.

NEW VERSION 2.0

It is a new major version because I added a new option for the generated website: if your PDF has like 40 pages, till the last version you wouldn't be able to display them all at once in the 3DS browser because of its limited memory for loading all the pages images. But now you can choose to split the PDF in groups of like 10 pages, and each group is displayed in its own separated section of the site, while the website has navigation-arrows to you navigate between them.

Well the tool is getting better, its now let you make your 3DS like an e-book reader of whatever PDF you are willing to read.
As a bonus, if you want something nice to read, I have here a space-sci-fi novella called "Outpost 2: Divided Destiny", which is the story behind a very old game with the same name, which you will hardly find in the internet: http://bit.ly/PalhDE

Why would I want to convert a pdf file on my computer just to go read it on my 3DS ?? I dunno, but it seem VERY pointless.

Pip'

He said his 3DS is the best mobile device he has, and he likes to read before falling asleep.

I think this is really clever idea. Don't listen to the people putting you down, and keep up the good work!

download link is not working, it just redirects you to a blank page...
I really need this tool, I use pdf files to study at work and being able to open them in my 3ds would help me A LOT...
