Hi all,

Sorry if this has been asked before but I could not find it. I currently have a DS Lite using the CyclosDS Evolution card. I have a slew of games in .nds format for it. I would like to upgrade to the DSi XL since it has a bigger screen and my brother is now hogging my DS Lite more than ever before.

So here is my question if I buy the DSi XL + the CyclosDS iEvolution card can I use my olds .nds files to continue to play my games on it?

Thanks!

Yes, but it wouldn't be smart to buy the iEvolution though.
Why not? Is there a better card out there now? I have only used the Cyclos Evolution and have grown accustom to it.
I like using the MoonShell2 app to play videos and how easy it is on the Evo to go between games and videos.

If you're going to spend that amount of money buy a Supercard DSTwo.

Or if you really like how easy it is to go between movies and games, buy an Acekard 2i and put MAIO on it. That is really a great setup. :)

Because team Cyclo DS is dead. Your best bet is either R4i Gold (r4ids.cn), an Acekard 2i or a Supercard DSTWO.

oh wow that is a shame! I like my evo.
Well I went with an Acekard 2i.
Guess change is the only constant.
Thanks all for your help.

I'm sure once I get everything I might have more ???. =)

nothing is official. they never said they were going to stop supporting flash kits. what they did was take their site offline, then they put it back. the forums continued to run themselves and the mods did their volunteer jobs. then the forum went offline, then i think it came back up. all during this time team cyclops was impossible to reach for comment, i know... i tried. they stopped releasing updates and then they didn't fix the bootloader issues. many users updated their dsi and were stuck in one mode or the other because the new dsi firmware was not supported by the old ds-mode bootloader.

the ievo was flawed from the start. it used an exploit that was very limited in what it could offer and they advertised it like it was a full dsi solution, which it can never be. many users (on many forums and via email) complained about the faulty dsi compatibility modes and the the lack of homebrew. cyclops responded by saying that they were working on it and then almost a year later they didn't release anything.

its a good bet that they are done with ds hacking. they were working on an xbox mod chip the last i read. the ds scene is pretty much at the end, it makes sense that they wouldn't stick around.
