Help dsi xl purple r4 card

The r4 card I have shows "An error has occurred" when I load it.

my Dsi Xl is on 1.4.5U

The same topic has been covered many times: a simple search would have given you the answer.
Your console's updated software blocks your old r4, it would seem. You could play directly from SD card if, via an exploit, you install TwilightMenu++. Also if you install Unlaunch (a bit risky, though) you could use your old r4 again, but any cheap recent r4 would still be better than that.

Maybe if you had searched Google before asking a question, then it doesn't have to be said. Plenty of guides exist with instructions on installing the latest kernel for your specific flash cart.

    So you'll have to sideload alongside Windows. You can have one partition for Windows and another for Linux.

    @AncientBoi, If it's already installed, it does tell you to remove the installation media afterwards such as the USB stick or DVD that you installed LM with.
