As part of an on-going bet between OnLive staff, it seems that if OnLive gets over 62K fans by Saturday, any game will be redeemable for $1 (in the US).
MJenson, the account for OnLive's "Community Guy", tweeted "Help me win a bet with my manager! If OnLive gets to 62,791 FB fans on Sat, US players get their next game for $1!" Later, OnLive's official Twitter confirmed the bet and will offer any game for $1 in the US if they get the required number of fans by Saturday (which is 10,000 more fans than they currently had at the time that Jenson tweeted). Unfortunately, this promotion won't be reaching the UK, where OnLive recently launched. UK fans still have the first game available for £1, however.
OnLive had a similar promotion to get 50,000 fans a couple of months back, offering Arkham Asylum for $1 if they reached that amount. Fortunately, they did, and Arkham Asylum became available for a dollar for a day.
For those of you who don't know, OnLive is a game streaming service that has become relatively popular. It allows you to stream a game from their hardware onto yours, allowing you to play games with only the minimum requirements of the software (which are quite low). The service recently launched in the UK to rather decent success.
I highly suggest that all GBAtempers jump on this deal. It's a great way to try the service out without much commitment and you can help out some fellow OnLive users (such as myself) nab a certain game involving Space Marines for a measly dollar.
I decided to post this in the USN as I don't want to use the front page to promote my own personal interests. BECAUSE I'M UNBIASED.
But yeah, I want to buy W40K: Space Marine for a dollar. Like it and be a friend. You may even enjoy the service if you ever give it a shot.
And to any discouraged UK users who wanted a deal similar to this, they have a similar deal for the first game you buy on the UK OnLive service (£1 for the first game you buy). There's also some deals going on (I think Deus Ex: HR is on sale and there's a $5 deal every day until Friday for the finale of $5 Fridays).
