whats the difference between your kernel and the kernel fromAt least for ZaindORp, these functions don't seem to be used very often. There aren't many games that support the vibration function on DS/GBA, so they're not used very often (but the new Goodboy Galaxy supports vibration! EZ Omega D.E support this feature). RAM expansion is a rarely used feature. Only Nintendo's official browser and several homebrews need it, and its RAM is too small for homebrew. NOR memory may be the most practical of the three. Some GBA games and NDS games like pokemon can be linked in game save. This function can make the burning card participate in game save linkage like a real cartridge.
The most important feature of EZ Omega D.E may be the change in the saving method. Saving after booting up the GBA greatly reduces the risk of losing the save data.

Actually that's the same user .
This is ZaindORp's characteristic of speaking. She is used to speaking in the third person.

Some users have mentioned this situation, and now it can be confirmed that this is a bug. Currently, you need to manually create the THEMES directory in the root directory of the SD card before the theme function can work properly. This will be fixed in subsequent versions.
Simple light support both EZ Omega and EZ Omega D.E but this only work with EZ Omega D.E.whats the difference between your kernel and the kernel from
Sterophonick simple light master?
how about skins, are the skins like really basic?
Simple light support both EZ Omega and EZ Omega D.E but this only work with EZ Omega D.E.
Correction, the title should be kernel, not firmware.
Hi, can you tell me if i should opt for the DE over the regular or which in general would be a better overall choice, im not planning on getting a ds or playing rumble games, someone said about fram save states idkSimple light use a different file structure from the official kernel but this use the same one.
Simple light backup the ROM multiple times(one for last one and another for an earlier version, and another) but this only backup the last one.
Simple light has a different theme from the official kernel but can't be changed without reflashing another themed kernel and this use the official theme by default and can load theme file without reflashing the kernel.
Some details about the plugin's source code differ, but all are based on the same source by Kuwanger.
Simple light has different font and this has only the offical one.
And maybe there are more differences.
What? It has NOR flash. It's 512Mbit, same as the DE.I think EZ-Flash already explains them in detail: https://www.ezflash.cn/product/ez-flash-omega-definitive-edition/
Omega has no DS/GBA Rumble, DS RAM or GBA NOR memory, uses a (not easily removable) battery to manage save files, has no activity LEDs to indicate whenever your SD card is being written or read - so you might find yourself probably corrupting your savefile if you turn off your console fast enough. I think that's the gist of it.
Theoretically, any kernel can use custom skins, but currently it is impossible without re-flashing the kernel. This kernel may be the only one that can read the theme directly from the SD card and apply it. In addition, the theme format of this kernel is compatible with the official kernel. You can use a hex editor to replace the content after 0x100000 with the content of the theme you want to use and then flash it, so that you can use the theme of this kernel in the official kernel. However, this is obviously much more difficult than using this kernel directly. Similarly, you can also extract the data at 0x100000 and beyond from the EZ ODE kernel with a theme (themes based on Simple Light source code are not acceptable because they use a completely different theme format) and use it directly as the theme for this kernel. Here is a theme that I am much happier with besides the others I threw together.
I like the aesthetic of the teletype monitors, had that in mind here
Are the other firmware's this easy to skin? It seems very coincidental that such a user friendly version comes up just before I decide to look into it again after a couple years.
If you have enough money, EZODE is obviously better, and the only reason to buy EZO instead of EZODE may be its high price. But EZO is also sufficient for most situations, and if you can ensure that the GBA is not turned off immediately after saving the game, it should be able to meet most of your requirements for a GBA flash card.Hi, can you tell me if i should opt for the DE over the regular or which in general would be a better overall choice, im not planning on getting a ds or playing rumble games, someone said about fram save states idk
is that all that changes with the skin themes? I mean like idk can you make a red version? I only ask because i was thinking it was pictures in the background or something like a wallpaper but if its just simple word colors and just color fonts changes its not a big deal. The skin looks nice btwHere is a theme that I am much happier with besides the others I threw together.

You can absolutely do background images, wallpapers. I am not verry talented, and have to cheat with AI to make decent images.is that all that changes with the skin themes? it’s not that this is complicated but i wouldnt mind seeing your creations or you help and make one for me. I downloaded the red zip you provided but what programs open it? do i need to download the univeral skinner to open these and see how it looks? You can absolutely do background images, wallpapers. Red version of the default skin? Sure, See attached.
Red version of that "Console" one I posted, would take time so you gotta confirm you want it before I put effort.
Making them can be rather simple, The "Universal Skinner" can be found in this thread: https://gbatemp.net/threads/ezflash-omega-skins.501406/#post-7943100
You will need the "Definitions" .xml file provided by our OP/dev, ZaindORp, in the readme of the kernal github page.
as well as the "image.bin" file in the same github repository
-If you are familiar with "GIMP" image editor, I have attached a template that can help you skin around all the text and stuff.
Also, If you need help. Or want me to try to make one for you, I do enjoy a project with direction.
Keep in mind the resolution is like 240x160
The default_Red.zip file is ready to go. Inside you will find "default_Red.ezodetheme". Just copy to your SD and let it ripit’s not that this is complicated but i wouldnt mind seeing your creations or you help and make one for me. it looks awesome and it works!! Will you post more themes/skins I dont want to beg you to make them lol but im having fun changing the skinsThe default_Red.zip file is ready to go. Inside you will find "default_Red.ezodetheme". Just copy to your SD and let it rip
1 - If you have not used themes yet, create a "THEMES" folder in the root of your SD card (Dev has plans to make this step automated)
2 - Copy the default_Red.ezodetheme to your SD card. (Personally I made a "SKINS" folder to store them all.
3 - Put SD back into your EZODE, then the EZODE back to the GBA and boot it up
4 - Press your right-trigger to go all the way to the right, it will ask if you want to enable custom themes, press "A".
5 - Use that left-trigger to go all the way to the left SD card manager, find the default_Red.ezodetheme that you copied, use "A" to select it.
Attached is the few I have made so far.it looks awesome and it works!! Will you post more themes/skins I dont want to beg you to make them lol but im having fun changing the skins
it doesn't "work with that", this would replace your SimpleLight setup. Since this kernel uses the folder structure of the official kernel (as opposed to SimpleLights singular SYSTEM folder), you would need to change the folder layout accordingly.I would like to ask having fully setup the custom kernel of SimpleLight for my Omega D.E. , does this work with that I just wanted to know how to install this properly without bricking my Omega D.E.
They are different kernel. They can't work together. Just flash it and the old one would be overwritten. As they are using different file structure, you may need to move the files to the right place. The way to install this kernel is just as same as install the Simple light kernel. Just download the release from GitHub, rename the file as ezkernelnew.bin and put it in the SD card. Thank you so much for shedding light into this for me! I was wondering if I could merge both kernels into one but alas it isnt the case, I appreciate it tho! Thank youThey are different kernel. hey do you know how to install pogoshells or emulators on my gba ez flash omega? like pocket geo or game gear etc? I dont see any recent tutorials? They are different kernel. They can't work together. https://www.gamebrew.org/wiki/PogoShell_GBA i downloaded this but idk what to do nexthey do you know how to install pogoshells or emulators on my gba ez flash omega? like pocket geo or game gear etc? I dont see any recent tutorials?
Pogoshell is really an old thing. It was designed to work with some old flashcarts like XG or Turbo FA and can't work with EZ OMEGA. The kernel here just using the plugin system port from it, instead of using the whole homebrew. While this kernel is currently doesn't work with EZ OMEGA (and no plans to port to it yet), there's another kernel has the same function, simple light. Just use that and follow the guild there.https://www.gamebrew.org/wiki/PogoShell_GBA i downloaded this but idk what to do next
