Goal is to attach a USB drive to copy my games over, as my kids keep scratching the disks.
I've looked at tutorials, but some haven't been updated in a long time, and I don't know what still applies and what doesn't.

I've got an electrical engineer friend who said he would do soldering if that is needed.

You'll have to get an Xkey.
You'll have to dump the DVD drive firmware first.
Xenons can't be RGH'd (aside from an attempt to rescue to the DVD keys)

Thanks for replying. I've watched some videos on it, but I'm not finding an answer to my question. Does the Xkey have an option like "Wii Flow" for Wii where all the games can be seen at once, scrolled through, and run from there? Or does that require RGH?

There was a DVD menu option with some coverart if I'm not mistaken.
But games should be loaded in via the Picture viewer or the music player if you got ISOMenu enabled.

In reality, you spend maybe 10 seconds selecting a game.
Wanting cover art on it just slows things down.

Edit: RGH isn't possible on a Xenon.
You might be extremely lucky if it boots to FSD/Aurora.
If it boots at all.

Yeh, I'm amazed they still turn op working.

RGH is possible for DVD key rescuing.
Even then it's iffy at best.
Running a hacked NAND on RGH on a Xenon, you'd have more luck catching pixies.

You guys are funny.
Thanks for the replies. Which version do you suggest I hunt down and buy then?
FYI - this console was sold to me by a co-worker who returned it for RROD, they refurbished it, and he never touched it after they sent it back. I got it for $30!

RROD doesn't make it any better.

I highly recommend you get a 360 made in 2009-2011 (the Phatties from 2009 or the glossy Slims from 2010/2011)
Their the easiest to get an Xkey into, and they're also reliable.

If you want to RGH, any 360 made from 2008 to 2013 ish will suffice, any later requires more hardware, which makes it more expensive.

I don't have a wii u anymore to test it myself, but if homebrews are not visible on the wii u menu I think you can press L + R + minus to open the plugin menu, there should be an option called "homebrews on wii u menu" or something similar
