Greetings! I recently purchased a supposedly water-damaged Xbox One S that does not turn on at all. I have dissasembled it, cleaned it thoroughly and left it for a while. I tried to power it up but to no avail. I have connected the PSU to electricity and measured 14.6V instead of 12V. so now I am not sure if the PSU is okay or not. Any thoughts? I also ordered the power mosfets that are the usual fault. But I still dont know if the PSU itself isnt faulty. Thank you for any help!

14.6V is a bit High for a 12V Rail. It's 22% more than normal. +/-10% would be in Spec but not 22%

You should put a Load on it and measure it under Load, some PSUs regulate themselves under Load.

@BigOnYa should order one as well
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Nuh think ima get a Asus Rog Ally X, or the Xbox branded one coming soon. Will be bout same price but 5x more powerful than the SW2. I'm more a Xbox fanboy anyways, N want to play my Xbox collection on the go.
  • K3Nv3 @ K3Nv3:
That's a dream world last rog ally was close to 800
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@realtimesave, Nuh I don't think I will. Ninty is getting pretty greedy with their prices.
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
@K3Nv3, you still looking over $600 for a SW2 w taxes and accessories needed. I'd rather put that $600 towards a better handheld.
  • K3Nv3 @ K3Nv3:
    600 is less than 800
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
1.71 tflops and only 12gb ram, is less than 8.6 tflops and 16gb ram too.
  • K3Nv3 @ K3Nv3:
Still won't be closer in price 200 difference can feed a person for a month
  • K3Nv3 @ K3Nv3:
I don't see the Xbox portable being anymore than 600 though
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Rumors say the xbox branded handheld coming this summer will be $499/599. So we will see.
  • K3Nv3 @ K3Nv3:
But going forward all newer portables will probably also require express sd Nintendo probably saw this first
  • K3Nv3 @ K3Nv3:
But by then the semi reputable brands will have cheaper options
