Gaming Will the 3DS support wireless internet thingies apart from WEP?

Yes, it will support WEP, WPA and WPA2. This was stated on the Japanese 3DS website.
However, it is unclear, if it will support WPA and WPA2 for old DS games, as the DSi didn't support WPA for those.

I have reason to believe wireless compatibility is actually in the game cartridge and not the console, as regardless of whether I use a DS Phat or DSi, the earliest Wifi games like Mario Kart DS and Animal Crossing can't connect to my router. As it's already been said, though, if DSi games use WPA, then 3DS games will definitely be able to use at least that.
