if i have wad installer and wad uninstaller in the Wii HomeBrew Launcher Channel, is the wad folder still supposed to be on the root of my SD?
if so, is this where i put the wad i want to install/uninstall?

if i use this technique to install a wad (Wiiware game), it will be installed to the main Wii menu not the Wii HomeBrew Launcher Channel menu, right?

Yes, all wads go in the wad folder.

Wads install as channels and are independent of the Homebrew channel.

Oh... and use TP to load it so you don't get any errors.

YOU HIJACKED MY THREAD!!!! jk

but seriously, does anyone know what teq meant when he said use TP to load it? load what?
if he meant use TP to load the wad, doesn't that defeat the whole purpose of me having the wad installer in the Wii HomeBrew Launcher Channel?

I am also confused about the folder structure of Homebrew when you use the Homebrew Launcher. Normally you are supposed to create folders like /roms and /saves in the root of the SD card, but when you use the Homebrew Launcher 0.4 with the folder hierarchy mentioned above, I don't know if I have to create these folders within the Homebrew folder along with the Homebrew itself or if they still need to be in the root of the SD card. Maybe someone can clear things up.

this is how i have it set up and it works flawlessly. i hope that clears things up.

now, what did teq mean when he said load it from the TP hack? load what?
if he meant load the wad from TP wouldn't that defeat the whole purpose of me having the wad installer in my HomeBrew Launcher?

whether your wad installer is launched via injected dvd, tp hack, or homebrew channel, or the future wad installer channel, the parameters remain the same.

everything goes in x:/wads

@SylverReZ, I also heard one of the Prince of Persia games was so unfinished that it required the "24/7 online" drm so a puzzle could be done and the game could be finished. And that when the Ubisoft servers were closed the (cracked) game was impossible to finish or something like that
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, That's extra scummy. Ubisoft nowadays ship out incomplete games like Skull and Bones which was being worked on for nearly a decade now.

I like that games can be fixed after the fact, hate that it's being abused via beta tests... And DLC... I was a 7800 owner back in the day and loved Impossible Mission, turns out I couldn't beat it because it was actually impossible lol

I never knew about it at the time but a fixed version was available but you had to mail in your broken copy lol

So that version is semi rare
