Hacking Wii games freezing due to lack of usb y cable?

Hi guys,

I just installed vWii on my Wii U today and when I got around playing my Wii backups they started freezing. It happens after a few minutes of gameplay and the whole console either freezes or the screen goes blank and starts bleeping. I had to plug the power plug to turn it off.

Is this due to the lack of a usb y cable on my external hard drive? Thanks.

It very well could be. Without a Y cable your hard drive may not be receiving sufficient power, thus it shuts off mid game. (And logically if the system is trying to read from a hard drive that's lost power it would freeze.)

Cheers, just ordered a usb y cable. Hopefully it will fix this.

Yeah, it's going to freak out if there's insufficient power to the HDD. A Y-cable will give it power from two USB ports as opposed to one, so it'll work just fine
