first of all, i'd like to thank djtaz for all the help in the past.

i have a new problem!

i am unable to load wads. i tried installing world of goo, sonic 1, sonic 2, sonic 3, brain challenge........and i get the same error for all:

ERROR! ret = -1022

however, installing other wads is ok. such as the backup launchers, and the Mplayer.

i have tried 2 different SD cards (one was 256 mb, and the other 2 gb).....still no luck

the wads have been confirmed to work on my friend's wii

i am using the files from the original post ("put on sd card" files)

my backup launcher works fine otherwise.....just that i am unable to install wads

can someone please help?

Sounds like you may have updated - can you try installing Mplayer again and see if it actually installs ?
Or even the DVD Dumper wad
What version is your Wii on ?

Can everyone explain the options and/configuration when use "backup launcher" ? For example, what is the different (good or bad) when use PAL50 or PAL 60? In what situation we can use "force NTSC" (Is it use for PAL DVD disk but playing in 3.xU or 3.xE wii?)

Hey there, I'm having trouble using the Backup Launcher 0.3g /w 002 fix. It's been working fine before, but now I'm having a strange problem. Whenever I boot the application, the options menu doesn't show up. I just see a black screen and logo where the menu SHOULD be. I tried holding 1, then B while booting (not both at the same time).

Do you mean just dumping the app and putting it on my SD card again?

EDIT: Just did what I said above and I'm still having the same problem. Strangely enough, my discs boot fine, it's just the options menu that won't pop up.

Alright, I've figured out the problem. I had a GC memory card in Slot B

replying to djtaz:

My wii is on version 3.2U. I didn't do any updates after I installed the homebrew package (on the first post). However I had done an update before I did the homebrew package. (but that should all have been reversed after the homebrew installation etc)

I also tried to install the Mplayer again, and it worked! I even uninstalled it and re-installed it through the WAD manager and it worked!

However, installing games is still a negative. I still get error ret = -1022.

I have tried 2 sd cards already. Please help. What else could it be?

I also saw a post regarding using a wii backup disc to fix this problem? Something about cios 247?? not sure if that makes sense.

Please help.

Thanks in advance

Im really not sure what the issue is to be honest - i only ever played about with the backup loader and never had much interest in game wads.
Im not even sure where to go from here to try to resolve your issue.

you could try uninstalling cios249 with any title deleter and install cios_fix.wad - see if the wads install then - if they do re-install the cios thats on the sd card after that and the backuploader should work again.

I have problems installing the cIOS.

I have a brand new Wii 3.4, and have downloaded the backup launcher 0.3 beta. got to install HB using the TP hack and beta2 (for 3.4). However, I couldnt complete the CIOS install using backup v7 in the pack. it gave an error at the end which i couldn't read quck enough before it rebooted.

I also had problems with the custom wad and wad 1.3. I solved that by downloading IOS16-64-v257-prod separately and ran it.

I have tried a number of other packs but sitll can't get the CIOS going. What should I do???

On a separate issue. I saw a post saying that by downgrading to 3.2, WiiFit (original) does not work. Is this true? what's the solution?

Thanks for your help in advance.

I was wondering, is there a way to integrate Ocarina with the Back-up loader? ( not sure if it's been asked before, but im not about to go through 95 pages to find out. )
A friend of mine usually uses geckoOS with ocarina for brawl so that you can have replays longer than 3 minutes, but his Wii suddenly doesn't want to accept american Brawl discs anymore, so he's gonna start using the back-up loader from now on

those option are for playing games from different regions on old tvs
Can U or someone explain a little about this? I am newbee. Thank you!
Do a google on Pal and NTSC and you will see the difference - basically different lines on the TV's so they display differently and as such different output settings are required.

Firstly, if you had to download any files seperately then i dont knwo what pack or guide your using , but its not the one in my zip file as i have everything contained in it and a full guide on what to do. No other files are needed and i cant advise when you use someone elses files that i cant guarantee.
Secondly - wii fit plays perfectly through the backup loader without upgrading , but even upgrading is ok if you want to once you have the loader installed.

Get my zip , follow the guide step by step - if a step doesnt work DONT continue , go back and start again.

Actually if you can find all the necesary IOS in .wad format, you can overwrite them and that way you'll have a downgraded Wii, read this...!!!

you should really put a pack and instructions together for that ether - it would make life a lot easier for a lot of people - is it region specific ?

Thanks, Djtaz. Will download your pack and reinstall. Do I need to uninstall anyhting, except the 3.4 HBC, before doing this?

Also, a clarification on the Wii fit, mine is original and not a backup copy, so does your advice still stand?

Thanks a million

I'm going to run again the update to 3.4 and go back to 3.2 and then I'll run a title lister and I'll try to create a package for it, only the RVL-systemmenu-vXXX is region specific, the IOS, MIOS and BC are not, so I'll make the package without the SysMenu so no semi-bricks everywhere because of me
