Far Cry — Nintendo Switch Port (NearChuckle_nx)
This is a Nintendo Switch port of Far Cry based on the Android/Linux version of NearChuckle.
The port uses VNX Translation Core, Mesa/Zink for graphics and SDL3 for input and window handling.
Installation
Download .nro file
Create this folder on your Switch SD card:
Copy the NearChuckle_nx.nro file into it.
Then create a game folder:
Copy these 4 folders from your Far Cry installation into the game folder:
The final structure should be:
Then launch NearChuckle_nx.nro from the Homebrew Menu.
Performance
A CPU overclock is strongly recommended.
The game has long startup and loading times on a stock Switch. The more CPU overclock you use, the faster the game will generally start and load levels.
Controls
Known Issues
There are currently some graphical issues, including texture rendering problems in the starting bunker.
Some textures may appear missing, corrupted or incorrectly rendered.
Error Reporting / Logs
If the game crashes or an error occurs, the port automatically creates a log file in the same folder as the game/NRO.
If you encounter a crash or any other problem, please send me the log file in DM.
Please include the log from the crash that you are reporting so I can investigate the problem.
Mod Support
Mod support has not been tested yet.
Mods may or may not work depending on how they access the original Far Cry files and engine systems.
