It's up to them whether they want to translate them or not, secondly there is no point in translating a game unless there is some community demand/support for it (usually demand xD). Have you tried requesting in the translation requests thread (if that still exists, ive been gone for awhile up until a couple of days ago)?

Translations dont seem that hard from what I have heard (well of course there hard)

what I mean is that getting to the translating is easy, but the amount of translating/rewriting is extremely
hard.

Get what I mean?

^ - not too sure what you're trying to say there, although seems to be one of two things: translation itself is and isn't hard but there are so many games needing to be worked on that it is hard in the sense of getting through the massive backlog of games not localised; or, the amount of translation required for each/this(?) game is large, and thus hard. Either are semi-valid points I guess... I'm not sure that they're relevant reasons for this particular game though.

Anyway, rastsan was the one working on hacking this game, and there is a patch released that does translate a decent chunk of the game (enough to be playable at least), although it's really not a matter of being able to translate the text as much as being able to successfully hack the game. The amount of text is actually extremely small as far as translations go in general, but from what I've been able to understand in reading the devoted thread, as well as discussions with rastsan, is that the game itself is just plain difficult to work with. I'm not really a hacker, so I can't say very well either way, but I know the translation side of things is quite easy at least ;x

I'm sure it will come along eventually, but it's just a matter of waiting, as with every other project. The only option you have if you are too impatient for this is to learn and work on this yourself.

Well the translation Rastsan did is playable but there's still a lot of work left to do and i think his project is dead. Plus a lot of the text is unreadable and the game freezes every time u close the DS. I'd like a translation of the missions, quests and all the skills and maybe enough story to tell what to do next.

And its not that im impatient, its that people are translating games that aren't even good but this game is really great and you don't hear anything about it. I think it deserves a lot more recognition and support. I think if enough people would show that they agree then it may just happen.

@wolven9 - I completely understand what you are saying, but the only option really is to wait, unless you can find a hacker with a bit more motivation to mess around with that particular game lol. Find that and I should be able to help you find a translator (I have a couple of friends interested in joining the community who, whilst not at the same level as myself for example, are certainly capable of getting this game done); the first step is the important one though, cause as thing stand, accessing the text to work on from a translation point of view isn't so easy ;x

I'm not too sure what you mean by people are translating games that aren't even good. The Blood of Bahamut project, to name one of the more prominent, has a great team, and the game itself is easily worth the effort, for quite a few reasons. I know there is a prevalence toward the visual-novel style games, as well as the highly commercialised titles, such as Bleach, but there are still plenty of great games in progress. Then again, I'm not entirely sure you would have found them all, since a few have changed ownership and the like enough times to be a bit confusing to someone not directly involved in the community ;x

@kevan - I wish that were always the case

No part of the translation process is easy.

The hacking and initial text dumping is hard.
Hacking the graphics can be hard.
Translating the text can be hard.
Inserting the translated text can be hard.
Fixing bugs can be hard.
Editing can be hard.
Hell, just getting it to a point where you're happy to release it is hard.

Nobody gets to bitch that nobody is translating a game and say it's a shame. Everybody thinks it's a shame because the Japanese game they want to play won't be translated. If you really wanted it translated, you would learn Japanese, learn all the skills you needed, and go do it yourself. You can be disappointed, sure, but don't try to call it a shame that nobody wants to do your bidding. Few games get translated, and it's up the seemingly small handful with the skills and time required to get it done. If they don't want to translate the game you want translated so badly, you just have to suck it up.

Also, I'm not being harsh if you may think I am. Those who actually translate around here tend to chew out people who bitch about translations not getting done. It's hard work, not something casual that is done on the side for fun.

I said it's a shame, never did I say it's easy or I think anyone owe me anything, cause I don't.
I started to learn Japanese by my self couple of months ago to know how to read and understand and actually translate managa and later if I can novels/games, and it's been unbelievably hard, at least for me.
as of now I learned kanji lite +kana + starting sentences/words
so believe me when I say I'm not underestimating the process involved.
