It will work for most games because most games (90%) are C2 manufacturer. For games that have 45 or AE manufacturer change it to C2 in the template. The way I do it is check each game in Sky Army Knife then search each game that has to be changed manually using NotePad++ in the template searching the SHA1 string. Don't search by title ID as some games can have multiple entries.

You will have to do it for online games like Mario Kart, Kid Icarus etc. Don't worry about offline games if the manufacturer is different.

It probably won't work, try changing AE to C2 using what I wrote above. Make sure you refresh the game in Sky by cycling through your games. Also, if you have an American system the Rev01 dump of SSB is C2.

Where can I see that my game is a C2 Game?

Open your bin in Sky Army Knife using the 'Infos Extractor' tab.

Using a private header.
Works fine for Mario Kart 7, but Super Smash Bros (both US) always brings up error code 002-0123.
Lurked a few threads and switched manufacturer ID (tried C2, 48, and AE multiple times), 002-0123

I am changing template file with No Ban No Sky, and manually editing the template.txt file

The fact it works with Mario Kart 7 is what's confusing me

I don't know how many people this applies to, because I've read many times that people just dump one game and it works across all of theirs just fine, sadly, this isn't the case for me and I've seen about 3 people make a thread asking why they're getting this error, and they've gotten no answers basically.

So turns out, if I'm correct, it's because of the manufacturer.

All of my ROMs aside from Smash, didn't work online with my header information from my own dump of Animal Crossing.

And I noticed something, Smash was the only game I had where the manufacturer byte was AE(OKI-Semiconductor), and that's the same manufacturer of Animal Crossing. Everything else gave me error 002-0123.

Mario Kart 7 and Final Fantasy: Curtain Call were the main games I wanted to play online, and those are both C2(Macronix) games.

I have a friend with a 3DS and about 10 games that he doesn't care for, I managed to get him to dump Pokemon Y and a few other games(Which actually leaves me with a header for each manufacturer) and Pokemon Y just so happens to be C2. I applied that header to MK7 and TFF:CC and whaddya know, they work online now. So if all of this is correct, you want at minimum 3 3DS dumps to ensure compatibility of all roms.

Read your dump's header information using Sky Army Knife and see if it is either an AE(OKI Semiconductor), C2(Macronix), or 45(SanDisk) based game, and then check the base template for your game and look at its chip ID so you can tell which header and EEPROM to apply to get that to work.

Remember:
C2 = Macronix
AE = OKI Semiconductor
45 = SanDisk.

If push comes to shove and opening your original dump in SAK doesn't show any Cart ID information, you may have to Export Header to .bin in Gateway ROM Patcher, but it SHOULD work in SAK. I haven't had any problems with it.

There may be many of you who know this already, but this is mainly for those people who didn't get an answer when they asked last week, because I was one of those people.

If this helps anyone who is looking for which game they could dump, from the 4 games I've dumped, I can tell you that the cart ID for these games are:

Pokemon Y: C2 F8 00 98
Animal Crossing New Leaf: AE F8 00 98
Devil Survivor Overclocked: 45 F8 00 90
Fire Emblem: Awakening: 45 F8 00 90

So do I edit the Card ID or the EEPROM ID to get this to work? I'm new to all this stuff!

You really should edit your post. You just put your private header inside a very public forum, and you posted this last wednesday. This isn't a private header for you anymore, it's now a public header and there's no telling how many people saw it and decided to use it for themselves. If anyone decided to take that header and use it, one of you or all of you could get banned.

I was getting this error too after using a private header, it turns out it was because I was using diskwriter to restore a save game I had that was played in a rom version without any header. The save data was replacing the private header, once I deleted my rom, reflashed it, and played without restoring save, it worked normally.

Just try to change AE to C2 and not the whole Hexbytes, it worked for me at Pokemon X.

Hi! So I'm to understand that Manufacturer ID has to match the Private Header's original Manufacturer ID and this can be done by changing the Manu ID to match the private header? It seems like this hasnt been working for everyone based on the replies.

I've bought a Sky3ds and it arrives Friday, it would be unfortunate if I had to get multiple private headers instead of just one thanks!

you might have to search for your game serial more than once in the template to patch all the Manu ID's. Then add the template to your DiskWriter and write Pokemon X.
