Gaming Why do PS3 and XBox 360 owners talk crap about the Wii?

I didn't mention PC gaming because there's no metion of it in the OP.

I'm not much of a PC gamer myself though
"PC" gaming typically means high-end graphics and most of the time FPSs (what's it's best for IMHO)

The pros are games are pretty cheap and graphics are really good

Negative are games won't always work for Example you go to the shop and but COD with "PS3" on the box it WILL work on your PS3 but say you buy COD from steam you may need an extra ram stick a better graphics card etc to run it.

Gameplay for Wii wise, Redsteel, Zelda, Kirby blah blah blah. Also family game =/= crap game play most have single player parts which are often miles ahead of the already good multiplayer.

Quite a lot of people didn't give motion control and touchscreens a chance.

But the argument when some people try stressing gameplay over graphics in the year 2011 really p*sses me off, to me the best gameplay game in the passed decade is Battlefield 2 on the PC, the best gameplay+graphics on a console is on both the 360/PS3, and that is Battlefield 1943 (epic game, ripoff to BF2 to be fair but it's awesome arcade style).

So where does that leave the Wii? all i can maybe think of is The Condiut, and after 2 mins of playing you've played it all.

Haven't you read up on why the 360 has better graphics? check the specifications of it's GPU processing unit compared to that f the PS3. PS3 would be able to do some things the 360 cant if a rich or deeply passionate 3rd party developer learnt how to use the PS3's multicore processor correctly. GO READ UP! or better still find your mate who has a ps3 with the same game you have on your 360 or the other way round and meet up and test, providing someones eyes ain't borked lol..

Anyway, if people preferred gameplay over graphics, (as most you are brainwashed by the wii yous believe it has the best gameplay available to date), why is it in all online games which are released on all platforms, the 360 wins every time? hmm funny that! The reason being Gameplay+graphics+the best online experience, not just confusing gameplay. More people play on 360 at any given time than the ps3 or wii.

Having owned both a 360 & PS3 I'd say the 360 just about nicks it in the graphics dept, although the difference is pretty much nothing these days. Certainly though, PS3 fanboys have to be the worst ever - your beloved console is at best the same as a 360, get over it! (And vice versa)
Neither fanbos should slag off the Wii though! Naturally I own one of these too - fantastic console for parties, playing with the kids and generally multiplayer full stop. And softmodded, the machine gets even better, emulating anything up to the SNES/Megadrive with ease, and improving with the N64 & PS1 emulation too. Plus the wiimote makes for an excellent NES/MS/GB controller, with the Classic a fantastic SNES pad, all wire free and sat there on my big downstairs telly!
Not much cop in delivering an Elder Scrolls-esque game, sure, but that's not what it was made for......the Wii compliments a 360 or PS3 very well thank you very much, something the fan boys should know if they consider themselves 'gamers'

I agree, i am a proud owner of my wii, only one thing lets it down for me and that's the issues with aliasing, and yes as expected you agree about the 360's gfx, it can handle shadows, aliasing and anisotropic filtering more than the ps3's terrible chip. And well done on the 100th post, long time member! A true original.

I don't see any issues with playing a Wii in your own home. If you're not alone it's just family or friends and even then they'd be looking at the screen most likely.

I've never met someone stupid enough to hit their own kid with a wii remote.

Don't get me wrong, the Wii is a good all-round console it's has good support for all ages,
BUT on the hardware side compared to the consoles around it, it's shocking, the wii sensor
bar is all good and well but the novelty wears off after a while.

The Wii is just a over clocked GameCube with a SNES Super scope. it pains me to say it but
it's true, if you put a GameCube and Wii side by side the difference are not that difference
probably just 20%.

The Wii is what the GameCube should of been back in 2001. and the graphics and hardware
show this.

If you have a Intel i7 with a very good GFX Card you can easily emulate the Wii on modern
PC's with "Dolphin" IV played DKCR and 007 - GoldenEye using "Dolphin" and its awesome
Can you do that for the PS3 or Xbox 360 NO, The other consoles are way more powerful,
With a bit of good coding you could probably emulate the wii on a PS3.

The Wii would of been a world breaker if it was released in 2001 instead of the GameCube
all Nintendo did was looked at the GameCube and tweaked it and the Wii was born.

Take a Tweaked and Over Clocked GameCube add a SNES Super Scope and you have the
Wii Console, Nothing innervating by Nintendo there.

Gameplay from most 1st party and the better third party gamehouses is top notch.
I just like the Wii for the exclusif games and all the Emulators. It's like having all consoles from the 80's till now.

If I want graphics I'll play black Ops on my crappy PC with my 60 euro GPU...lol a lot cheaper than a Xbox or ps3. ( same games )

Well I'm a ps3 owner and I don't think my ps3 is better than my wii. the only thing that I think beats out the wii is the graphics. but in the department of loading time, the wii wins. I also get into the game more with my wii.

And if there are fanboys taklin isht about the Wii's motion controls being inferior to their console's, that's BS because ps3 and 360 had over 3 years to develop motion technology for their system and were afraid to do so intil they saw how the wii fared in the market.

There isn't much to compare since they're so different. and I'll leave it at that.

Why do you care? Everyone has their own personal opinion, and it's not as if the argument is one sided. If it bothers you, then don't listen. People will always compare similar items, and there will always be the ones that are negative or talk crap about one or the other. Just take their opinion as it is - an opinion. If you want to get "technical" just know that no matter what you say, no argument ever ends with "Ahh, I see. Clearly, after all of this bickering back and forth, you've proven that X is better than Y. I will withdraw and change my opinion." You could draw out every fact, compare sales, game quality, etc, but in the end, both sides will still believe in what they believe.

It is entertaining sometimes, I will admit. All the talk about "hardcore", "casual" and "graphics" and such is pretty funny - it's as if the one person arguing believes they have the lone right to determine what a "gamer" is, or something to those effects. If, at the end of the day, you're having fun and enjoying your game, leave it be. Don't let the waywardness and terminology bother you.
