Why are ads popping up consistently now?

Ads at the bottom of the page for free phones and gift cards are overriding GBAtemp and forcing gbatemp to redirect to a malware site.

Https for gbatemp is now red indicating it's not a safe site. What's on?

Simple, ads (which are not actively chosen by gbatemp, although they can complain to the ad company) that were previously approved by said company, are being modified by the advertiser to include "malicious" javascript, changing the current address or worse

It wasn't me who voted for all major browsers to automatically run remotely provided code (in the form of javascript) by default, I promise
