I only really recommend the EZ4 mostly because it's what I have. While I've heard the M3 is fantastic, it's basically extinct. Though really, both are great in their own ways, honestly. EZ4 definitely has the more usable UI with little bloat, but the M3 has some extra features built in, which aren't particularly useful now but are still there. It all comes down to availability though; EZ-Flash 4 is available pretty much anywhere for a great price, but the M3 is, as said, non-existent essentially. But if someone can find one of those cards, by all means try and grab it, but with the EZ4 out, it's not worth the hassle trying to find an M3.
Just my opinion though.

(Also, the EZ4 DOES still use a battery to store the temporary saves before transferring to the cart itself, but it's not as big an issue as a consistently used RTC, at least I think)

I agree. Basically extinct. No one who owns one would relinquish it, and if anyone did, it would be virtually impossible to run into a person selling it on the internet.

EZ4 is definitely the way to go right now.

This M3 flashcart have nothing in common with the card you are talking about, right? Just the brand I guess...
if you are not collecting cards, the m3 perfect(the gba one) is not really worth to look for.. i have both a m3 perfect and ez iv..

the m3 got a inbuilt music video and picture players and other stuff, but we are in 2015, you only want a gba cart for play roms.. and i didnt searched much but there is homebrew to do that on another flashcarts if you want...
the ez iv is good.., the m3 is a bit faster to load roms, maybe it got a bit more compatibity but there are some issues you can't get rid off... like the nes games need to be patched
it has RTC but there are only 6-7 (pokemon, boktai series, and one japanese game) games that use it and there are patches for it.. if you really want rtc, can get a pokemon game for cheap, change the battery and done.. boktai doesn't even need to be patched i think.. it always asked for the date on the ez iv.. so...

TL;DR for 200 bucks, a m3 is not worth it, its the price people are asking for it. there is 1 or 2 currently being sold at the trading area, but you will pay a collectors price...
if you want a flashcart for games, get a ez iv.. its about 30-50 bucks.

i always say this in every thread that appears, if you guys got questions about compatibility (to make sure a game does work) just ask me and i will spare 5 minutes of my time to try the game

The phat model had amazingly loud speakers tho.

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

Nothing special about it other than it's more comfortable than the Lite

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

    but that's a long shot

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.
  • AncientBoi @ AncientBoi:
    I don't pirate them, I Use Them :mellow:. Like I do @BigOnYa 's couch :tpi::evil::rofl2:

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
