No, not really. A lot of games don't even use quad cores yet.

Overclcok it to around 3.5GHz and you'll be good.

...thats what I am trying to figure out how to do without melting my processor!
 
cooler master v8

during pc mark vantage test, never went above 50C
rpm is set on lowest on it also

Go buy a cheap CPU cooler here then.
 
What's the model number? You might be able to BIOS flash it.

Even if that works you won't be able to overclock it much, since the heatsink sucks (and most won't fit in crappy Dell cases).

Never get a pre-built computer again, it might be easier when you get it but you'll get so many headaches later on. Plus you always pay more. My one year old computer is around the same price and speed as Dell's today.

Stop, trying, to, OC, your, proc. Would have been fun if you could but you can't. The gain in performance in games would have been minimal for now anyway. Just get a better graphics card (that fits) and yay for gaming in higher settings.
