Recently I have discovered that I can use other types of kernel in my R4 clone. It uses microSD (2GB).
I was using the kernel that was developed by the team that created my R4 clone. Now they will not release newer versions of the kernel.

The old kernel that I used is very bad, the saved game files have MSDOS names and the action-replay codes list is a mess.

I tried DSTT TTMenu, it is a little slow to load the main menu, but it is better.

I would like to know the best kernel that I should use in my R4 clone.

Wood R4 does not officially support r4 Clones (other than R4i gold from http://r4ids.cn/ and R4i DSN from http://www.r4idsn.com/) those are the only 2 clones that officially support Wood R4. Other clones often are running hacked versions or older versions with modified loaders, either way they have no real official support.
Edit: The best kernel to use on most R4 Clones would be Retro's files here

I downloaded the package and there are many kernels of name with YSMenu.
DSONE_DSONEi YSMenu
DSTT_DSTTi YSMenu
GE_GEi YSMenu
M3Real_M3iZero YSMenu
R4_Orginal_R4_Clone YSMenu

What should I choose?

I want to run Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin without the patch that removes sound.
I tried to use Akaio, because someone said that it runs Castlevania.
http://filetrip.net/nds-downloads/flashcart-files/download-akaio-190-f29895.html
I put __aio folder and akmenu4.nds in the root.
When I run the file akmenu4.nds I get a black screen with "akmenu4.nds not found".
