The word piracy suggests robbery.

Even if I "pirate" a game that I would have otherwise bought, I do not commit robbery (not even theft, I would argue).
Piracy could be compared to the used games business: The creators of games also do not profit off it. But how many copies would have been bought without piracy or used games sales is pure speculation. In fact, companies like gamestop even profited from selling used games.
That said, I support games I like because it is in my own interest (i.e. there is an incentive to create more of them)
