I mean the switch is like a rotating nub that does exactly 2 clicks to power ON or OFF, so I spend minutes turning it back ON then OFF or OFF then ON until I am absolutely certain it did do the 2 clicks properly to feel satisfied it is correctly powered ON or OFF.
Is this just me or everyone else could relate?

I've had one of these that powers a fan

It's doubly terrible because the fan has multiple settings and doesn't turn off immediately - so it's difficult to know when you have actually turned the fan off

Dang, I thought this was normal.
sorry!
try not doing it once and then try to ignore it. (just once! If it is OCD and you try to fight it, that makes things worse without treatment!)
Does it feel unpleasant?
If so, i couldnt think what else it COULD be other than OCD.

Really though have you looked into these? I got them in all my lights makes life so much easier just pressing a app. Sometimes you have to resync or may get a couple years out of them but cheap and useful. The only annoying part is pairing them since you do have to flip the switch several times to activate pairing but usually not that repetitive.

Yeah I try to not think about it but like I would be bothered by not double checking lol
Like when I make sure the door is locked properly even if I know for a fact it is locked properly, it's dumb I know lol

i have that exact same one, too.
Just reading you mentioning checking the door led to me having to check the door.
Intellectually i know fully well it is closed and i am safe, but you cant beat a compulsion with intellectual rhetoric, it doesnt care.
... it sucks, i know. 😓

Torturing is a big word, more like a mild annoyance to my amusement lol
ive had OCD for over two years now, it really IS torture for me.
I cant just calmly accept it. I get annoyed with myself, the more i do it, the more annoyed i get.
When i get out of bed again and again to check the door, tired, exhausted, i get aggrevated... so i dont fall asleep.
I should relax, just take it and let it happen, but im bad at that.
heres to hoping therapy eventually works.
