So I wonder if this has ever happened to anyone else? I can recount three times for me.
1. When I played Super Paper Mario on my softmodded Wii (USBLoader) I got to one of the latter bosses of Super Paper Mario, the little girl (Mimi, I think) and no matter how many times I jumped on her she didn't take any damage. I figure it was either a regular bug or some kind of anti-emulation thing Nintendo/Intelligent Systems implemented.
2. When I played Mega Man Battle Network on VisualBoyAdvance and I got to a door in the internet post-Fireman(the first boss) that was supposed to open with a key, but it said I had no key. This must have been some kind of anti-emulation thing by Capcom.
3. When I played Mega Man Battle Network 2 on VisualBoyAdvance, the same kind of thing happened after beating the first boss and trying to play more of the game. It's like Capcom made it so I could only play a demo then be forced to buy them.
Has anyone else ran into this kind of thing? The SPM one happened to me in 2012 or so and the Battle Network ones even earlier in something like 2005 so it could be that emulation has come a long way and it doesn't happen anymore. But when I downloaded Chibi-Robo on Wii just last year it only got to the title screen with a monkey icon or something under "Press Start" and it wouldn't recognize me pressing start, so maybe it's not entirely dead..?
