  • but I understand you didn't know that page existed, as you are a new member.
if on day you want to "notify" (no need to send a pm) someone, even a moderator or admin, you can add a @ in front of the username. that user will receive a notification with a link to your message.

yes, sometime I find it annoying when users notify (busy) people without reason, just because talking about him/her. I feel bad for them being notified for nothing :P

Yeah, it's so annoying when a busy person like myself gets notifications for no reason, like when people are having a conversation on my user page that has nothing to do with me! ...
    ...
Ok... it's not true!!! I'm not busy at all; I have no life so I have plenty of time to waste on this forum. And you can post here all you want -- gettng notifications makes me feel like I'm important!! :D
isn't there enough interesting subject to participate to instead of spamming? you registered to a forum you don't have any interest with?
10 post is not a lot, there are plenty of things you can say legitimately.
Also, why would you need to PM a mod on first day? can't it be asked in public? if you want to be contacted in PM, you can ask on a moderator's profile (like here) to contact you.

I invite you to make a new account and try it for yourself. Say, for example, you needed to make a somewhat lengthy post in the Bounty thread which included an image and a link. You are not allowed to do that until your post count = 10. An alternate method of entry stated is to PM the mod directly with your entry, but you aren't allowed to do that either until 10. The deadline for the Bounty is the next day, so it's not like you have several days to browse the forum and engage in quality discussion. Really, try it for yourself and see if you don't end up doing the same thing I did, i.e., short, spammy posts. Oh yeah, there's also a post timer that you have to wait for before you are allowed to post again, so it's just a fun process all around! ;)

Sorry, I didn't thought there were a post length or bbcode restriction on new users.
I don't see how it can help prevent spambot.
"The forum requires me to spam up the forum with 10 posts before it will designate me as not being a spammer. "
Blame the previous people who abused of our community to spam their advertised products, or posted gore images just for fun.

    Peace brother.
