ROM Hack [Release][CTR Plugin + Codes] Tongari Boushi to Mahou no Machi Cheats

Hello!

I created cheats for Tongari Boushi to Mahou no Machi (とんがりボウシと魔法の町) using the CTR framework. This uses both CTR plugin for action replay which is now merged with the current version of luma, but also has the gateshark txt file if you would like easier access.

Game ID: 00040000000B4A00

To install the gateshark codes: Create a folder called "00040000000B4A00" inside the cheats folder on the root of your SD card. Place "00040000000B4A00.txt" inside "cheats > 00040000000B4A00".
To access them in game open up the cheat menu with your luma menu hot key (default is L + Start + Dpad Down) and select what cheat you want to use.

To install the CTR plugin: Place the folder called "00040000000B4A00" inside the plugins folder that's located on your 3ds SD card "luma > plugins > 00040000000B4A00".
To access these cheats in game you need to turn on the plugins option inside the luma menu and then press select to open the CTR menu. The cheats will be located inside the action replay tab.

Interesting, how did you find the equipment one?

There was a lot of back and forth finding out where it was placed inside memory but a lot of the DS magicians quest games had the same logic for how they stored their information. I referenced via codes that were already documented to see where it was stored in memory and the values they had in the 3rd magicians quest game to figure out what it should theoretically be inside the 4th (3DS) game to then find the memory location 🫡

There was tiny bit more I had to do, like unlocking magician titles to receive some equipment to see what value would change in the DS game to then do the same on the 3DS game to actually find the memory location.

Some cheats are easier than others. I’m currently trying to piece together the item list but the ones I found don’t have any references to items name so I am doing a lot of manual work to document the names and IDs of what items you can give yourself 😭

I feel you with the item ids, I had to manually document a lot for personal use, I ended up losing a bunch of my data a couple years back and I just haven't felt like remaking my lists, thankfully for the the games I make stuff in (monster hunter) a friend of mine documented everything (documentation) sadly I can't talk to him anymore though because discord was banned in russia-

Depends, what are the download sizes of each item? and is the game multiplayer in anyway? and can you other people with them items when you don't have them?
 
Hi, thanks so much for sharing the codes! Unfortunately they don't work for me. I tried both gateshark and CTR. Placing the CTR plugin folder in luma>plugins makes the game crash on launch. I'm still going to try some other things, but if anyone can help, I'd appreciate it! Cheers!

CTRPF .3gx plugin is how I do it, just follow the tutorials on how to set it up.

There is a very kind person who has figured out how to add downloadable stores and items through extra data but to get it working you need to edit your own save file memory for your save to recognize it.

It’s a bit complicated but you can find the thread here on how to do it!
