There's an old proverb or something about a king who askes two boys two different tasks. The first is told to go count all the weeds in the kingdom. The second is asked to count all the flowers. The first comes back after his count on the verge of tears. He reports to the king "We have so many weeds. Our kingdom is a depressing wasteland!" The second reports that the kingdom has so many flowers that there can't possibly be a more beautiful kingdom in the country.
TL;DR: if you look for reasons to be depressed you can find them. Same goes for happiness.
Lots of little little things get me though the week. Since I play a lot of Destiny, reset day is always a good day. That's Tuesday at noon I think. Also around that time, PSN usually refreshes their sales page, so that's always fun to look at.
Wednesdays during the winter, I shoot the 3 dot league at the archery range.
Thursdays used to be my favorite day of the week. Thursday nights used to be spent at the church. I played drums for the worship band. Now, don't be so quick to write off worship music, they really let me rock those drums.
The weekend used to be a high light simply because I would go visit the girlfriend at college but now that we are married, I get to see her all the time.
There are lots of things that get me through the week, and I hope you all have your little things too. Life can be overwhelming.
