this is my friends actually im trying to fix it for himwhat were you doing with the console the last known time it was working?
unfortunately cfw hasnt been installed yet which is why I am asking if there is a way to apply a mod/hack to see if it can be fixedTry holding START or SELECT while turning it on (if your console has CFW) and try turning it on without the SD card
You should still try booting without the SD cardthis is my friends actually im trying to fix it for him

Exactly. Corrupted Home Menu extdata and/or bad SD can cause this without any form of CFW.You should still try booting without the SD card
Any know hardware damage (like dropping on the floor)?unfortunately cfw hasnt been installed yet which is why I am asking if there is a way to apply a mod/hack to see if it can be fixed
I want to try to take out the battery but I am unsure where it is cause I definitely think thats would fix the issue do you know where this spot is and if not can you link me the ifix it guide?Exactly. Corrupted Home Menu extdata and/or bad SD can cause this without any form of CFW.
- Also wait half an hour before turning it off (sometime Home Menu boots after a few minutes of black screen).
- Clearing the RAM (take battery out for some minutes) sometimes helps. Note that the N2DSXL needs triwing screwdriver and getting access to the battery is not as easy as with any other DS model. Refer to ifixit in order to get a guide if you want to try it. N2DSXL is pretty easy to damage – you better read the guide.

If there is no physical damage involved and you think the hardware is still working: ntrboot into GodMode9.

I recommend the R4i Gold 3DS Plus with internal switch for ntrboot.
Good luck!
Is there a free way to ntr boot?Exactly. Corrupted Home Menu extdata and/or bad SD can cause this without any form of CFW.

The battery you simply need to unscrew the back plate off of to get to, and no, you need a physical cart to ntrboot with, unless ya got someone that can lend ya one, there aint no free way of doing that.I want to try to take out the battery but I am unsure where it is cause I definitely think thats would fix the issue do you know where this spot is and if not can you link me the ifix it guide?

I know where the battery is I was moreso asking how to safely take it outThe battery you simply need to unscrew the back plate off of to get to, and no, you need a physical cart to ntrboot with, unless ya got someone that can lend ya one, there aint no free way of doing that.
You lift it out? Its not exactly a science to removing them. You take the top part of the battery, it will lift without hassle. You attempt to power on the system without it in to remove any residual power, and then place it back in the console.I know where the battery is I was moreso asking how to safely take it out
