So...yeah, it had snowed one day and to avoid falling I had to slide on the ice into the fence. I forgot my DS was in my hand. We both hit the fence and the hinge kind of broke. Eventually the top screen stopped working so out of anger I ripped it off. My question is...what can I do with this now? Can I attach a new Top Screen? Should I sell it? (Sorry the picture's so big, I took it with my DSiXL)

Well if you weren't an idiot and didn't rip the ribbon cable apart, you could have checked if it was just your connection that was becoming loose...but now that you have torn it off, there is no point in checking that anymore. You could probably just buy a new top screen and housing and be done with it, or keep it for spare parts...or toss it...or give it to me.

Well this was years ago, I didn't know what a ribbon cable was.

I don't think you can use it as a gba though. I had one like that and it wouldn't boot. Keep it though you may come accross another ds with the bottom broken and you could fix it then.

It's easy to swap parts on a ds if you have a triwing screwdriver.

It isn't even good GBA becouse there's no way to play miltiplayer games and some buttons become dummy. Selling it or buying new shell and screen (I only found shells) are best options.

A related story:
A few years ago, my mom was babysitting this kid who was 8 at the time I think. He had his DS in his lap and ended up jumping up for something or other and it fell to the floor. The hinge came apart and the system froze. I told him "Don't worry, I can probably fix it." to which he responded "NO YOU CAN'T! IT'S BROKEN! MY DS IS TOTALLY BROKEN!", and then he proceeded to THROW IT ON THE GROUND AND JUMP ON IT.

What he was left with was two completely shattered screens. All I could do was say "...Well... I can't fix it anymore..." >_>

And then he whined and his mom bought him another one a week or two later
