Hacking Using a Yo-Kai watch cartridge on n3ds emunand 9.0?

So, I got a n3ds 9.0 for christmas() and am trying to run Yo-Kai watch in emunand(so it'll have the update). Whenever I try to launch the game, however, I get a message saying I have to update to 9.9(obviously not possible on n3ds emunand). Any advice?

update emunand to 9.5 and then try HANS if the above doesn't work?

What size of microSD card do you have?
Could always backup the rom and make it into a .cia and then you won't have that problem anymore.

you need to use that rom?
you can always download the frimware spoofed cia from the iso site

A way to backup 3DS roms (GW Launcher does it, I'm not sure if there are other methods but there probably is.)
Then use either 3DS to CIA Converter v4.1 or Riku's 3DS Simple CIA Converter to generate ncchinfo.bin, place that at the root of your microSD.
Then you can use, either rxTools' Generate XORpads option, or Decrypt9's NCCH Padgen option in XORpad Generation Options

Then you copy the xorpads back over to the computer and use them with your CIA converter to turn the rom into a .cia
