Hacking Upgrade from a previous firmware to 5.5.1

Hello,

I'm new in the community of Wii U.
I've bought a brand new wii u with mario kart preinstalled. I don't know yet which firmware is installed by default.

I would like to hack the console, and if the firmware if <5.5.1, I have to block the update of 5.5.2 and I must buy a game which contains the FW 5.5.1 ?
Or is it possible to update the console from FW <5.5.1 to 5.5.1 with another method which doesn't need a physical game ?

It most likely already has 5.5.1 if it came with Mario Kart 8. Turn it on and check system settings. As long as you don't set up an internet connection yet, it won't update.
But yeah if it's below 5.5.1, you need these games to update:
- Paper Mario: Color Splash
- Skylanders: Imaginators
- Just Dance 2017
- Minecraft: Story Mode
- The Complete Adventure
- Shantae: Half: Genie Hero
- The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
- Darksiders: Warmastered Edition
- Cars 3: Driven to Win
