Here's a better way (imo):
Get the WUD (you can get it zipped, then extract it), decrypt with the new version of DiscU.
Install with WUPInstaller.

Since you're saying it again, I'll ask again:

How did you get the nice, small, 1.4GB standalone New Super Luigi U using WiiU USB Helper? We know you can get 'the game' if you download the 14GB New Super Mario Bros. U, but that's not quite the same as having the standalone one available.

But you can do this:

I already have the files, but thank you for trying to help. I know it's not on NUS. That's why I'm asking jbuck1975 to explain the magic that eludes us, just like I asked last month and never received a reply to.

When you have gotten that, make sure you have your NSLU disc inserted!
Dump the files with Disc2App and now switch to your computer.
Insert the SD and find the dumped game, then copy it to your desktop.
Find the .tik file, find a way to make it work on WUP Installer and replace the .tik file on the SD with the new one.
If the game is not in an "install" folder, make it so it is!
Get back on your Wii U, insert the SD, launch the Homebrew Launcher and install NSLU!

Why do I need to hop back on the PC? Can't I just install from SD card to USB like any other game?

You don't need to. If you ripped the NSLU disc yourself, you already have a good ticket. Just install it.

Thank you very much for the response. I just went ahead and tested it out and it worked! I have a feeling the answer to this question will be Yes too, but I just want to confirm. I have a disc copy of Fast Racing Neo, do I just go ahead and do the same thing with that? I'm just confused as it is an eShop title which requires Mocha CFW and I haven't learned much about that yet.

And one more question, if I may, I've ripped 3 discs to my SD card now. Can I back up these "raw files" to my PC, just in case one day something goes wrong with my USB that's connected to the Wii-U? It's a very old hard drive.

If you have a disc copy, you can rip that. The eShop title would need CFW in regions that have no disc release of the same titleID, but the disc version doesn't.

Yes, you can save the *.app;*.h3;title.* files for later re-installation. And because they were ripped from disc, those files could install the title on any WiiU. (They're identical to anyone else's rip of the same region/version of the disc.)

Ever got confused with the game being inside of the game?
Well, now you can run it seperately!

Requirements:
An SD Card (min: 8GB)
New Super Luigi U disc


Method:
What you need to do is get Disc2App from the HBAS
When you have gotten that, make sure you have your NSLU disc inserted!
Dump the files with Disc2App and now switch to your computer.
Insert the SD and find the dumped game, then copy it to your desktop.
Find the .tik file, find a way to make it work on WUP Installer and replace the .tik file on the SD with the new one.
If the game is not in an "install" folder, make it so it is!
Get back on your Wii U, insert the SD, launch the Homebrew Launcher and install NSLU!

You now have NSLU as a completely seperate game!

People are still replying? I would've expected this would've gone lost with all other useless threads.

The only reason I did this was because the combination disc is as confusing as getting the DLC on a digital copy or CD copy + if you were to get the combination off the eShop, it would take too much space. This could also be a thread showing newbies how to convert a disc to app files.

I don't mind all the hate, I see that on every forum I go to. I'm used to it.

Any way, if you want to have a faster way of doing this, try Abood's way

I did this exactly but with wudd and when i try to install the game I get 0/0 mbs and it doesn't install.
