Trouble with left joycon zif connector (the ZL button one)

So I'm in the process of a shell swap, and while reassembling the joycon I cannot seem to be able to plug the zif connector that connects the ZL button back in correctly. Anybody have some tips regarding this?

Edit: Wellp I just accidentally borked the joycon, the closing tab of that ribbon snapped off and even though I did reassemble it further with help of duct tape, the joycon doesn't seem to register on the rail (works wirelessly to some extend though)

Edit2: Managed to fix my issue with a bit of tape and a little piece of foam to force the ribbon cable to stay put.
