Actually, now that you bring it up, I'm surprised they didn't give the players the possibility to play as Linkle. Would have been a great opportunity to maybe show that the hero of time can sometimes reincarnate as a female instead.

My initial reaction to the reveal trailer was that Link kinda looked like a cel-shaded Ellie from The Last of Us, now it makes sense.
