The Witcher III: Wild Hunt Named Game Awards Game of The Year
Let us know what you think of this decision in the comments below!
Technically the Witcher's Code does exist, it was just made up by Geralt after his first (mis)adventure upon graduating. Not really a spoiler, seeing that you read the stories anyways.Yeah beforehand I looked up differences on the wiki. Seems like they take a lot of liberties (there is no Witcher code, etc.) but it still introduces me to the characters and it incorporates the books in a different way. They picked a perfect actor for Geralt too. But since I already read the short stories I'm interested in how it's all added. Besides, Geralt has no memory in the first game. This won't stop me from reading the novels, but it'll be in addition to it. Excited to meet some of the bigger characters soon.
Geralt has plenty of personality, he's one of the most likable characters this gen, especially compared to the Sole Survivor in Fallout 4 who genuienly has no personality, albeit on purpose. You're comparing two very different kinds of RPG - a standard role play and an adventure RPG, the former being all about becoming the character and making your own story, the latter about assuming a pre-existing role and going on a story-driven adventure. Similar, but not quite the same. What i think... hero without personality, no original and unique... "movie" gameplay as all new gen games lol
And for a few rpg elements even win Rrg section... this year game award was a joke; people are bad!
For me Fallout 4 or MGSV deserved to win, but not this one!! (honor to Fallout 4 that even in next-gen have the dear HP bar lol)
The audiobooks are unabridged and you can listen to them on the go, hence the recommendation. Reading the actual books is just as good, but requires more involvement. The movie/miniseries take too many liberties with the story, they're not a good/accurate source for the backstory, really."Get the audiobooks" - Can I watch the film/TV miniseries instead?
At everyone, their own opinion. For me a little rpg element cant make competition to a full rpg game, and the hero of witch 3 (yes, witch LOL) that as you say he named Geralt (bad name) are not great character, dont left a sign, a mark, on heart of player, asTechnically the Witcher's Code does exist, it was just made up by Geralt after his first (mis)adventure upon graduating. Judging by your argumentative and grammatical skills I have to dismiss your opinion - if you think a character is boring because his name doesn't sit with you very well, you probably wouldn't know good literature if someone hit you in the face with a hefty tome of it. If you think Cloud Strife, a character who's only distinguishing features are whining and grunting, is more complex than a character from a world-famous fantasy series, there's just no hope for you.At everyone, their own opinion. did characters like Snake, Kratos, Agent 47 (only for mention many "real" game characters; for example many other more "fantasy" like Cloud Strife, Crash Bandicoot etc are exlused in this contest). Those heroes, fromt their cool name at their cool look, put a mark on players and they never forget them. This Geralt (who?) is none.
And is useless to say that characters you loved from child dont count, because in next gen, for example, Nathan Drake is a true "real" cool game character.
Nathan Drake is cool, Geralt is superficial character thrown in there just to put someone (like the 90% of actual game heroes)
I can't wait for Cyberpunk, the hype is real.Never had the chance to play the Witcher 3 but the gameplay is amazing from what I've seen. I'll skip on it and wait on ProjektRed next great game... Cyberpunk 2077
Do you have any idea of how lengthy those games are?I'll speedrun through The Witcher 1 and 2

world-famous fantasy series? If they dont make this game, I even dont knew the existence of this Witcher, instead: Cloud Strife = all the world know him! The Witcher is so poor that in Italy you need a lot of luck to find the book ehehehe (a serious book shop dont sell this poor fantasy story). Geralt it is just a stereotype of what look hero nowadays: a not-too-old hero with beard (Ni-oh say nothing?) All the same... Cloud Strife is original because is elaborated character, from his hairs to his outfit.
Geralt t's just a two-bit character that follows the superficiality of modern times; for me cant be under the name of "fantasy". Strangely Geralt and hero of Nioh look like the modern Thor (i hate his actor). I dont know how to explain, but all this sh*t are superficially. A part that the real Thor look serious and proud and not a sucker fool only for like to womens... The heroes of actual games only copy the stereotyps of modern characters, pure crap to feed the idiots who are no longer able to appreciate a job really well done, so they take this advantage to make everything without passion and hard work, only to do something...
Everybody's free to have an opinion, even if that opinion is wrong, so that's okay. Not having taste is not a crime. ;O;most OVERRATED game of the year more like. proof that people are sheep and they will just vote for whatever game their friends are playing without the ability to think for themselves.
You're thinking of CoD. The Witcher 3 is much deeper than that and actually presents a challenge. Especially if you play on anything above normal.most OVERRATED game of the year more like. proof that people are sheep and they will just vote for whatever game their friends are playing without the ability to think for themselves.
Yeah, this is only my opinion, i not attack someone without reason of those thingsEverybody's free to have an opinion, even if that opinion is wrong, so that's okay. Not having taste is not a crime. ;O;

No, he's thinking of The Witcher 3.... By all means add me up on Xbox Live and check that I played the game, and yes it's just over rated garbage, in fact I'd rate it the biggest disappointment of the year for me - I couldn't wait to play this, and ended up with THAT...You're thinking of CoD. Perhaps you should play the game and familiarize yourself with the character before making a judgement based on something as superficial as "an outfit". Geralt is a multi-layered, interesting character with tons of likability, meanwhile Cloud's sole characteristic is a big-ass unrealistic sword.Yeah, this is only my opinion, i not attack someone without reason of those things
If to someone like Withcer 3, ok... and watching again the gameplay is not so bad, but for me not deserve goty.
Maybe because i grow up with so amazing characters, over the reality, or with cool outfit/name that now those more normal heroes i dont like, but its my problem this LOL
Cyberpunk is a franchise that's been around for years, I know what kind of setting to expect.I see no reason to be hyped once the trailer didn't show any gameplay
