Great guide Delta its really informative and to the point.
Im working on my own skin for M3 Kaura which looks like the DS Lite/Phat Menu.

I think I found part of the reason why it corrupts saves. I noticed that there are two new files in the SYSTEM directory, SAKURA.gb and SAKURA.eng. I believe that these files are what Kaura uses as loaders or to load Sakura.

What we need to do is find a way to reverse engineer these files so we end up with a Sakura directory. Then we can reverse this process and recompile Sakura.gb and Sakura.eng.

Or we can wait for the M3 team to fix it. I myself am impatient, though, since I love the Kaura interface and I can't play games on it.

those 2 files are for loading Sakura 1.4x, it has nothing to do with Kaura

is anyone able to use cheats in Kaura? none of them works for me

after playing with it for awhile, cheats will only work if it saves your cheat settings (instant code, always on, etc..), choose your cheat codes to use and choose your cheat setting then Push X to Save, re-enter the Game Setting Menu if cheat setting is Off after you changed it to Always On or Instant Codes, then cheats will not work for that game. If you can;t save your cheat settings, go to Sakura and set the Game Settings for the Game and it'll save for Kaura to use.

could anyone test the following method that prevents the corruption of your save files???
rename all your .sav files from .sav to .SAV

and see if it works???

now I can finally play all my games with Kaura

Kaura cant play Music and Others Because they still a new Bootloader not FW.

So you can take M3 sakura or Touchpod.

The Kaura is only a new Start VErsion of the M3 REal/Zero.

Skins will make GBalpha soon.

Bit stupid this but i got Kaura to work and it played games fine. but after a couple of boots Sakura would stop loading at 75% of the way through its disk check. I then replaced all the files with backups but even without Kaura it still happens. If it helps, touchpod still loads and works fine.

there's a skip Diskcheck file somewhere in the site
or you could try this:

"M3SAKURA the system starts, immediately press and hold L + R + A + B 4 keys, you can initialize all the settings so that cherry. This situation is suitable to solve some reason M3SAKURA system can not boot normally (such as the disk check errors and other problems led the system can not be started M3SAKURA case)."

In other words, when Sakura starts loading, immedaitely hold L+R+A+B, and it'll skip Diskcheck and reset all settings to default

Unfortunately I gave away my US M3 Real flashcart to my cousin, and I only have my Japanese one right now. I'll have an M3i Zero soon, which is why I got rid of the M3 Real. Since Kaura is only for the Chinese/US/European flashcart, I can't test it for you. But it looks like the same thing is happening with the new Evolution loader for the Supercard.

Yep, the file is mirrored in the M3 Sakura Guide.

Is this easy to do with the new beta core? Because I tried it with the regular M3 Sakura (v1.45) and I can only get it to work 1 out of 10 times. The timing is really tricky.

I think that my skip disk check file is obsolete now thanks to the button press. I'm thinking it may have been something new added with the Kaura boot, and that's why you were having problems with the latest non Kaura Sakura.

As for the .sav to .SAV I'll test it in a bit. I was thinking of maybe looking for the file in Kaura that keeps track of which games have already had new saves made for it (but it may be that it checks the actual save file for that information).

The .sav to .SAV does not work with me. I'll hold of putting it in the FAQ until I test a few more games.

On the other hand it seems I'm making some progress with telling Kaura not to try and create a new save for a game. I noticed after Kaura corrupted one of my saves (I had it backed up) the config file had this new line:

"/NDS/1551-P~1.NDS"

1551 is the release number of the game I tried. This could just be how it keeps track of the recent games though.

Are you sure? I downloaded the latest Sakura from the Sakura FAQ and those two files weren't in the SYSTEM folder.
