Paper Mario PC port "Paper Boat" gets its first public release

After being in the works for quite a while now, the latest project from the Harbour Masters team finally makes port. You can now download the first release of Paper Boat on Windows, Mac, and Linux, with the game being playable from start to finish. At the time of writing there aren't a huge number of enhancements, with the game supporting custom aspect ratios and a few cheats. There is a mod menu included though, so I'll be excited to see what the community comes up with for the game.

As always this project ships without any assets, requiring you to provide your own ROM on first boot. Be reminded that this forum is not a place to request or share such things.

People trying to defend AI by saying we're complaining about getting something for free which is objectively false.

We didn't get Paper Mario on PC, we've had Paper Mario on PC for decades now. I remember playing it on Project 64 22 years ago on a potato which couldn't even render the active camo in Halo PC

What it cost us is affordable memory to run our games on, clean water and clean air.

Very well said. People won't know the cost of AI until it's too late, unfortunately

My friend and I were so excited to see this come out.
I really wish I hadn't read this thread. Especially not after discovering HM tried hiding the fact they used AI slop code.

I'm not going to tell my friend though.
I can't take away his hype.
