Just got my switch repaired after about 6 months. Tried booting into SXOS and get boot.dat? error.

I am on 11.0.1 sysnand.
11.0 SXOS emunand.

I understand 11.0.0 is the last officially supported SXOS firmware but I have read in multiple threads and forums that I should be able to boot my SXOS emunand from 11.0.1? Correct? Incorrect?

If not can I downgrade my sysnand to 11.0.0 to reenable my SXOS emunand booting?

This will make it look like it’s running on 11.0.1 but it’s actually 11.0.0 where it matters.

You will need to downgrade your emunand to 11.0.0 to boot SXOS.

Your sysnand can be upgraded to latest as long as you aren’t running SXOS on it.

While you‘re there you might as well add a dual boot for Atmosphere and upgrade to latest to run all the new games.

I booted Hekate and it threw up a warning that my SD card is in 1 bit mode.

So it seems my repair (broken SD card fpc connector) wasn't fully successful. It's detecting the SD card but only in 1 bit mode. Which you can't boot cfw with. Which is probably why I'm getting boot.dat error.

I think there is damage to the motherboard. So this switch is a bust.

That sucks man. Maybe reflow it one more time?

@SylverReZ, I dislike the kind of drm where you have to play single player games online all the time bc of some verification bs

@Xdqwerty, Don't use games that have Easy Anti-Cheat as its been exploited many times.

@SylverReZ, I also heard one of the Prince of Persia games was so unfinished that it required the "24/7 online" drm so a puzzle could be done and the game could be finished. And that when the Ubisoft servers were closed the (cracked) game was impossible to finish or something like that
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, That's extra scummy. Ubisoft nowadays ship out incomplete games like Skull and Bones which was being worked on for nearly a decade now.

Either that or their old games were unfinished aswell but we can't notice it

I like that games can be fixed after the fact, hate that it's being abused via beta tests... And DLC... I was a 7800 owner back in the day and loved Impossible Mission, turns out I couldn't beat it because it was actually impossible lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I never knew about it at the time but a fixed version was available but you had to mail in your broken copy lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
So that version is semi rare
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@Psionic Roshambo, I have a rom of the ds version of impossible mission
