Is it possible to assume that the new way of using xci>nsp with no invalid tickets is as ”safe” from banning as sx os xci loading is?
Or have I perhaps missunderstood?

Yes, they share the same amount of risk. You can also directly install .XCI files using ZeroTwoXCI or dOPUS.

R4S dongle is one of the available methods to launch the exploit needed to launch CFW, you have others dongles, midships, android phones or computer.

Only SXOs (from team xecuter ) is currently able to launch games in Xci format, but I you have to buy it.

All free open source CFW (Atmosphere , ReiNX, RajNX) can load nsp games and Xci can be converted in nsp

I read about ChoiDujourNX to upgrade without burning fuses, but guide look complicated with some problems with compatibility to SX OS.

All you do is obtain the copyrighted firmware files elsewhere from the Internet, place the choidujournx.nro in the /switch folder, launch the homebrew app, navigate to the folder containing the firmware files on your SD card, and once you see .NCA files, you press Choose in the bottom right. The rest of the prompts are self-explanatory.

I'm going to assume you are referring to Canna's tutorial. Keys are not needed before hacking but are useful for other things such as decrypting the NAND, unpacking games, and converting installable content. It doesn't matter when you dump these as these won't change (except for masterkeys which are firmware dependent).

As for Breath of the Wild, if you plan on using the retail cartridge to play the game, there are no additional steps to make it work with ReiNX.

Use shchmue's fork of the homebrew app Kezplez to dump the keys necessary to install .XCI files. Then use an .XCI installer such as dOPUS or ZeroTwoXCI

Alright, going from a Virgin nand without exfat support, to an updated hacked one would require:

Fat32 microsd

Launch payload

Backup nand

Update with choudigiourno? Do I need an exfat formatted SD in to get the option to install exfat update with choudigiourno?

Reformat SD to exfat copy all files over again

Get on with life?

I downloaded UNO demo, you can only do 3 matches and that's it. I deleted my save afterwards, booted it back up and still couldn't do anything. Not going to pay $10 for a card game.

thank you so much,so Switch hacking is more similar to PS3 hacking where only older PS3 consoles with certain firmware can be modified. i'm not sure if i should go for a New Switch or try to find older used console since there is no way for me to check a new console's serial number before buying it.
