That's probably one of the recent firmware update changes, similar to the Switch 2. I had to update my Switch 2 in order to activate the microSD card slot.

In order to send hekate payload, you don't need to have SD card inserted for the first time as stated here: https://switch.hacks.guide/user_guide/rcm/sending_payload
However, your SD card probably won't work in OFW, though. Can't really test that out on my end without updating my OFW to the lastest firmware. Still, you should be able to use emuNAND.

I see. Later in the guide it tells you to copy the Nintendo folder which I don't have, so in preperarion I wanted to create that using the Switch. The SD card had be used for the Steam Deck, so there's no Nintendo folder to begin with, nor does it even recognize the SD to begin with on the Windows based PC. The PC detects the SD card in Disk Management though, so it's not corrupted. The SD is barely used as most of my files are in the Steam Deck drive lol

Got a few games that fail to start. I get a black screen with an exclamation mark in a square box and underneath that the text:
Could not start the software.
Please try again from the HOME Menu.

In this case it's The Legend of Heroes: Trails from Zero and The Legend of Heroes: Trails to Azure that do so for me. I updated them to the latest versions, which should require firmware 22.5.0. My Switch runs firmware 22.5.0 along with the corresponding Atmosphere version, sigpatches, etc. As far as I can tell, the files are not corrupt at all; NxFileViewer reports their state is original.

Why does this error show up? And how can I fix it? Not just for these games, but in general if this shows up for any game.
Small update to this. After some trial and error I found that both games work fine, until I install their latest updates (1.5.5 and 1.2.5 respectively). I am starting to suspect this is sigpatch-related.

Both updates require firmware 22.5.0, which I am running. I am running the latest sigpatches that I know of (Hekate+AMS-package3-sigpatches-Atmosphere-1.11.2-master-5388824be-cfw-22.5.0) in addition to having installed sys-patch-v1.6.2.3. And yet somehow I can't run the games on these versions. I installed the games and patches with DBI 874, just in case it matters.

Obviously I'll check it again once Atmosphere gets updated to be compatible with firmware 23.0.0, but until then I can't help but wonder what's wrong here.

I feel ya. I have to wait until Atmosphere gets supported for 23.0.0 aswell, even to hack the Switch to begin with, because I never used the SD card with my Switch, and it prompts to update when I insert it. Oh well.

UPDATE: Got it working by deleting "kip1patch=nosigchk" from the hekate_ipl.ini file. Now games seems to be working fine and the error message is gone! :)

OK so I updated to 22.5.0 + Atmosphere + Hekate, obviously I ran into problems... I cannot start any game and I get this error message "Failed to apply nosigchk" upon booting into emuMMC. I guess it has something to do with Sigpatches.. but I don't get it, says Sigpatches are not "used anymore for FW above 22.0.0" in the link from the guide to sigpatches and refers to sysmodules instead with I've tried to update without any luck..I'm lost, please help

I am gearing up, literally, to stick a mod chip in a Switch OLED (Kamakazi shall prove to be a fun yet stressful challenge).

I am intending on trying Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn via the experimental Dolphin Core of the Tico emulator. Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn can import a save from Fire Emblem Path of Radiance for bonuses. I have the.gci save file from my playthrough of Path of Radiance.

Forgive me if I use the wrong terminology, but since the Tico is using Dolphin, does that mean it is emulating the GameCube memory card similar to PC so I can import and read my save in Radiant Dawn on the Switch?
