I was actually just asking about what benefits autorcm has if i can use sleep mode. I'm kind of a noob when it comes to these things, which is why i made the post. I only have atmosphere and don't change to anything else.

Simple benefit - you never need to use an RCM jig to enter RCM mode (helpful if your battery dies or you have to reboot the console)

More complicated benefit - if you're using CFW on your sysNAND and update it, auto-RCM will help to ensure you can never accidentally boot to sysNAND without CFW, preventing fuses from being burned, meaning you can downgrade back to a lower firmware at a later date if you so desire.

AutoRCM is stored in BOOT0 which is a part of your NAND. Sleep mode has no bearing on AutoRCM and vice-versa.

Then simply perform a normal system initialization.

People have been banned for using .XCI files both online and offline.

Thanks! I shouldn't have to worry about losing AutoRCM then. My setup is old and has been updated gradually, thus I'm still using CFW on sysNAND for the time being.

One day I'll have to back up my saves, downgrade to 4.0.0/1, and set up emuNAND from scratch.

Actually, since I'm here already, can I simply restore my old 4.1.0 sysNAND backup when the time comes, or is downgrading in ChoiDujourNX necessary first?

Either or is fine although restoring your NAND is preferred because you will not necessarily lose all of your saves and installed content unlike with ChoiDujourNX which will require you to initialize your system when downgrading.

Great, I might do this sooner than I'd planned. Thanks again.

Hey, sorry for the nooby questions but I have ZERO Switch hacking experience but a lot of 3ds hacking experience, albeit a bit older experience. There are some things I NEED to know before I dive in and decide to do anything with my switch. To note: I have a launch day switch on most current firmware

First off, can I (I assume through a sysNAND and an emuNAND) keep my actual Nintendo account/switch profile legit, unhacked, and 100% safe and OK to go online as if I never hacked my switch and use it as I always have, with no risk of bans? And on the flip side can I have a whole separate thing for custom stuffs?

Second, my current driving force for wanting to mod my switch is Pokemon. I have a physical copy, and want to know if I can keep my current save (realistically all of my saves) on my main profile as legit. But on top of that, I want to know if I can extract my save on my legit profile, get it on a PC or something to, say, clone Pokemon and then put it back in my "legit profile area" and have it safe to still use as such? Note, no plans to use hacked Pokemon online or anything. Just want to be able to clone.

On top of all of that, if the answers to all that is favorable, what is the recommended route I would need to go to achieve all of that?

    Thank you in advanced.:D

    Hi all,

I have a question about Switch motherboard and hacking.
My switch is not charging anymore and have sent it to Nintendo.
Nintendo says that the motherboard needs to be changed and ask 180 euros for that (!)
    but that's not the issue...
My question is by changing the motherboard, is that a possibility that I can't use the RCM exploit anymore?
Of course my switch is originally an unpatched one.

    thank you for your lights!

    cheers

Isn't it a given that sending your Switch to Nintendo for any reason pretty much guarantees it'll come back patched?

If you keep sysMMC legit and never hack it and do ALL your hacking on an emuMMC but NEVER EVER go online EVER with said emuMMC, yes it pretty much erases any and all potential bans as I understand it. But you can never hack on sysMMC and you can never go online with emuMMC. If you ever do either it pretty much guarantees a ban. Or the other way around. Some people do the opposite and hack their sysMMC and keep an emuMMC legit because I think it works better that way if you are hacking with a patched unit or something? The guide will sort that out anyway.

This I'm not sure about. I'll let someone else take it.

That depends on if you have a patched Switch or not. An unpatched Switch can be hacked through an exploit in RCM mode while a patched Switch cannot and requires another exploit that doesn't work on all firmware versions.

    Basically, follow this guide.

Hello, I’m in a similar position as the op, although I’m already running emuNAND with SX OS. I’ve never actually linked a Nintendo account or even entered network details/connected to the net since hacking said switch (I may have before the cfw was applied). Would it be as simple as booting to normal FW and linking my Nintendo account and adding WiFi details? Would the WiFi details then be present when entering cfw? How’s best to stop it connecting? I currently have light theme for ofw and dark theme for cfw to help.

    Thanks

The guide I linked goes through all of this in great detail, but before you start installing CFW it recommends to remove all the wi-fi settings and set it to airplane mode in OFW so that when you create the emuMMC it also will be completely disconnected. After that, you can re-enable connectivity in sysMMC and it will be separate from emuMMC. Just don't ever launch CFW on sysMMC (I removed the entry for CFW sysMMC in Hekate entirely so I don't accidentally launch it). Once you create an emuMMC it is entierly separate from sysMMC in pretty much every way as I understand it and has its own settings and defaults and installations etc. Even has its own Nintendo folder on the SD card inside the emuMMC folder.

My switch is banned from internet, is it still possible to do the system reset?

Yes I did remove all WiFi settings and have been in aeroplane mode ever since. Because I’m using SX OS and need a dongle yo launch the cfw I should be fine?

I don't know anything about SX OS, I use Atmosphere and deliver payload from my Android phone. Someone else will have to take that.

    Hi fellas. I gotta problem.
I was on CFW 7.1 usina ReiNX 2.4, accidentaly, updated console via SuperNAG, and now console is jamming on try to launch SEPT, so I've used my 7.1 backup with Hekate CTC but console does not accepting my previous BOOT0/BOOT1 BINs saying they cannot be found, but RAWNAND.bin works correctly.
So is it fault of not having prod.keys or BOOT0/1 files are damaged ?

Allright ! I have found problem and fixed it. BOOT0/1 files shouldn't have *.bin end, and it worked, console is fine now. Thank You

a while back i reported about my switch booting to just the switch logo after a thermal paste repair. not sure if it was the resistor that was replaced or if its a replacement emmc chip but i got it to boot recovery mode. but thats as far as it gets. autoRCM is enabled, this is progress though as it wouldnt even enter recovery mode regardless rcm or factory mode.

Now from what i understand the emmc is a intergal part of the system, and seems that its probaly blank (replacement) or doesnt match console (keys nand or whatever it was) i can simply enter rcm and restore my nand and keys and boot files?

i have boot files, fuse bins, keys bin. my only problem is i have 2 full nand bins, one gives a blue screen and the other works. is there a way i can compare or check integrity before performing essentially 2 nand restores lol.

The only error i see in recovery is a "unknown pkg1 version" when reading the tsec keys and when enabling/disabling i see a "this corrupts boot1" (not sure if a error or a warning).

figure i ask the pros first before i adventure any further, thanX in advance.
feel free to move this post

So I'm trying to figure out the safest way to put 90DNS on my currently always-offline hacked emuMMC (sysMMC is legit and undefiled). But it seems that in order to input 90DNS IP addresses you must first disable Airplane mode AND connect to a network. Needless to say I don't want to do this as I would instantly be exposed to Nintendo's servers before I got a chance to input the DNS IP addresses. Is there another way to do this??

Do I need to uninstall my EmuNAND and turn off autoRCM before doing a factory reset? Also will I be able to mod it as normal after doing a factory reset?

updated reinx 2.4 to kosmos latest package. Was on 8.0.1 software and everything was working. Upgraded to 9.0.1 on Choidujour, and now will only get past the kosmos, atmosphere screens, but will just hang on the nintendo switch logo? any ideas?
