Hey. Is there a way to test a full backup before restoring it, on my computer? I have a backup which may be corrupted so I'd like to check it, as it's my only clean NAND backup.

If you don't have exFAT support installed, this could cause your problem. Reformat your SD card has FAT32 or use an SD card that is formatted as FAT32 to see if that's your problem.

Is there any website that lists the actual changes for game updates? Some nfos don't mention it.

I want to resore my nand but my backup is 30GB big should I format the sd card to exFat or should I split the nand into parts again so I can copy it on my fat32 sd card?

Is it safe now to update to FW 9.0.1 using SX 2.9.2, or are there still too many bugs that I should stay put on FW 8.1.0?

If I have incognito, can I just go online to update my CFW emuNAND?
I'm a bit paranoid that stuff like the joy con serials be used to ID my console when going online with a clean OFW sysNAND...

Or is choidujournx still the best way to update it?

    No

It handles up to 2 TB

I believe you can try mounting it with hacdiskmount.

Both are fine. The best course of action would be to utilize a second SD card that is formatted to exFAT and restore the NAND with that card but if you don't have one, splitting the NAND may be a good compromise.

No games require firmware 9.X. Stay on 8.1 for the time being.

Any games installed with Atmosphere work with SX OS.

Yes since you can only enter emuMMC with a custom bootloader and all custom bootloaders bypass the fuse check although I do not know why you would ever want to boot a lower firmware on emuMMC.

If you have Incognito, you cannot do anything online that involves Nintendo. This includes system updates since the files are grabbed from Nintendo's servers.

So I updated tinfoil to 5.1 and got hung up at switch logo. So I reinstalled reinx and still stuck at switch logo. I have replaced and deleted all the tinfoil files of as card. Still hangs at switch logo. Ofw boots fine. Running 8.1 with reinx 2.4 latest stable release. Any ideas besides reformat as card? Even replace payload bin as well.

I have an unpatched system I want to use the RCM mode with. Can I do the RCM method with Chrome OS? Also, is loading the cfw possible without a Windows PC or is Windows required to do this?

Hey there! I've been watching the homebrew progress for a while but didn't want to hack my Switch because I'm afraid of bans. But now it is possible to run a emuNAND completely on a microSD. Looks really safe, so I want to try this out. Before I start I have some questions and I'd be pleased if you could answer them.

    1. What size should the microSD card have at least when I want to store my cardriges on it (have about 10 games, mostly AAA titles like Zelda BOTW, Odyssey, SSBU, FETH, ..)?
    2. Is a normal microSDXC U1 card fine or should I buy a fast one with U3 (more speed reading/writing)?
    3. Can I play on my cardriges when I'm running atmosphere?
    4. Can I play the savegames I currently have on the cfw/atmosphere? When I save my progress in the game while playing on atmosphere, is that save also available on the normal system? i.e. I want to cheat in Odyssey and get myself some coins - can I do this while playing on cfw and then continue on the normal system?
    5. The homebrew store and EdiZon have online features like downloading themes and cheats. When I'm using a cfw I should avoid getting online, is that correct? Does that mean I should download this stuff on the PC and copy to the Switch?

That should be all for now. Thanks in advance for the help!

Are you sure the game cannot be patched to a lower firmware version? Double check with NSC_Builder

Is your SD card formatted as exFAT?

I do not believe you can send payloads with Chromebooks but you can setup CFW with a Mac, Linux, Android, or even jailbroken iOS device.

    1. One that isn't fake and is at least 8 GB in size
    2. Depends on how much money you can afford to spend
    3. Yes
    4. CFW is simply a modified OFW, you are still running everything on the same console
    5. You can use 90DNS to block any Internet connections to Nintendo while retaining the ability to go online

Thank you for the quick reply.

Another question: How much effort does it take to change the microSD? I own a 64GB microSD already and could start with it. But when there is no storage left and I buy a new card, do I have to setup everything again?

Additional to question no. 4: so even if I install the CFW on the microSD (emuNAND) the savegame location stays on the console and I can mess with them (of course we are talking about offline savegames)?

    How safe is 90DNS?

You can just copy files from one SD card to another.

Well, the saves would be tied to emuMMC not sysMMC so the save data will only carry over when you are booting into emuMMC.

And 90DNS is the preferred method of going online while blocking Nintendo-related traffic.
