This is something I've been working on as an on-and-off project for the last 2 months. It should fix the worst part about Donkey Kong: Barrel Blast, the infamous motion controls which are used instead of traditional controls. This patch should work on GameCube Controllers, Classic Controllers, and DK Bongos. There are some bugs, see the release page

@ChibiMofo I did see your interest on the forum about this, check it out

Amazing work!

How did you get GameCube controllers working? That would be amazing for documentation / figuring out how to get other games to work with that controller.

Is it mapped to ingame functions? Or does it just pretend to be a wii remote using KPAD / WPAD libraries

Update: Nevermind I see the GitHub has documentation lol.

So from what I see, you dont need a Wii Remote connected for GameCube inputs to register too? Thats also super impressive

What kind of symbols did that need? (The documentation is pretty long lol)

I know New Super Mario Bros. Wii has a GameCube controller mod aswell, so if they ever decide to pick it back up, they could probably enhance it to not need a Wii Remote connected thanks to knowing what they need to do.

One last question for now: How complicated would it be for other games to get GameCube support?
Or atleast simple button redirection for games like Kirby Wii, not full motion implementation

To be clear, I’m not trying to ask you to make any of course, I understand these are difficult👍

But I’m hoping it’s more of just finding the SDK symbols and changing the code as needed for registers
